Chapter 19 – Push and Pull

It felt surreal to be in a Hotel that was almost empty for the sake so the darlings of the entertainment industry could relax in peace for the weekend.

"I don't think Kai's here yet." Beakhyun said while we made our way across the loby.

"I just got a text, everyone whose already here are gathered in the main conference hall." Chanyeol said looking at his phone.

"I can't believer that this sort of reality really exist." My sister said looking around with awe.

"Is Rain and Sehun even here yet?" I asked because I would feel a lot better once I asked Rian to keep an eye on my sister if I wasn't able to be around her.

"Speak of the devil." Chanyeol said glancing at the elevator we had just taken to get up from the basement.

I looked in the same direction and saw them walking towards us.

"Sorry, I had to drop my brother off at a friends place for the weekend." Rian said with an apologetic smile while she hung onto Sehun's arms. She looked nervous as hell and I guessed it was because this was a first for her as well. Having been with Sehun for months now, she must have come across plenty of celebs but I'm guessing being in the presence of a bunch of them at the same time was not a common occurrence, even for her.

"Should we go in?" Sehun asked everyone and I gave him a questioning look. "I wasn't able to get in touch with Kai at all." He said and I felt my unease increase. It couldn't be good, if he didn't even have the time to answer his phone. There were so many times where he let his phone go unanswered because he was too busy playing hooky with me but that was something that I refused to think because if that was really the case then this would truly be the end of me and Kai. I didn't do well with sharing what I considered mine and it's not going to change anytime soon.

Once inside I was instantly blinded by all the glamour. To say the people here were privileged would be an understatement.

"If I have to get caught up in something can you keep an eye on Yeena for me please?" I asked moving closer to Rian. I think she was taking shelter next to my sister and me as well because we seemed to be the only others who seemed out of place here as well.

"Of course but are you okay though?" She asked looking concerned for me, I could only shrug because whatever happens the only guarantee is that I will always pull though.

"This was never my idea." She clarified.

"I know, you told me you never even wanted me to know about Kai and Irene's history."

"Yeah, I mean you do know Kai's different with you right?" She tried to comfort me.

"I know that but it doesn't man anything, not when he's in love with someone else."

"Kai's here." Sehun interrupted moving next to Rian and sliding an arm around her waist.

I looked in the direction he nodded and instantly regretted. He was definitely there, cozying up with Irene. I pulled up my phone and called him because I wanted to see how much I actually meant to him.

He pulled out his phone, stared at the screen and then rejected the call, right in front of me, damn that hurt more than I thought it would. I blinked away the tears because this was no place to cry. Besides I was never one to just mope around like that.

"Who's he?" I asked pointing to the guy included in the group Kai was sitting with because I recognized him from when I first went to that club to meet Kai. He had asked to buy me a drink, I had pleasantly declined and then he asked me to dance and I remember giving him a rain check. Today seemed like a good a day as any to cash in that check.
