GOOD MORNING

The blinding rays of the sun pierced through the curtains on my window. They were touching my eyes and I found it very, very, very irritating. This is why I hate mornings, whenever I have to wake up for school and the sunlight is already annoying me.

Plus the brain-damaging noise from the alarm clock that just wouldn't go off. God, I hate mornings! I sat up and gave all my best to stand up from my bed and go to the bathroom for a bath.

I stood there and stared at my reflection. I touched my wavy blonde hair (which was artificially colored, by the way) and combed it with my fingertips.

"Aha, I woke up like this!" I exclaimed and then grabbed my iPhone 6 which was placed on top of the sink and took a mirror shot selfie. I looked at it and I can't help but to be amazed of how beautiful I was, not to mention that I haven't even brushed my teeth.

My fingers fiddled with my iPhone as I was posting the picture on my Instagram account with the caption, I'm so pretty and I know it #WokeUpLikeThis.

I placed the phone somewhere it wouldn't be wet and proceeded with the bath.

I was washing my hair when someone knocked on the door. I fastened my pace and rinsed the shampoo from my hair, then wrapped it with a towel, "What is it?"

"Good morning, Jacky!" It was my mom. "Hurry up or you'll be late for school."

"Yes, I'm coming in a minute. I'll just get dressed then I'll go down to have breakfast," I answered.

I brought my uniform with me inside the bathroom. I grabbed the packing tape and made it do its magic before I wore my skirt and my blouse. And, voila! Jacky is all set for school!

I went downstairs and sat down with Mama.

"Jacky, please cut down on your expenses. I'm having a hard time to budget. Please cooperate with me," Mama pleaded. It had been a month that she started telling me to cut down expenses. But I just can't. I mean, I need to buy clothes every week so I won't need to repeat a blouse or a pair of pants.

"I know, Ma. I'm trying to," I said in a bored tone, trying to dismiss her. I ate the banana in haste and then stood up from the table, "I gotta go, Ma. See you later!"

"I know, amazing, right?" I told Lulu and Martha, my best friends, as I was showing them pictures of our weekend vacation in Boracay. I can see from the looks on their faces that they're being envious of me.

"Was the water refreshing? Was the sand white as to what we see in pictures?" Lulu chirped, she's really engrossed with the idea of beaches.

I shrugged, "They were. But nothing special compared to our trip with Hawaii!" I exclaimed as I searched for the downloaded picture of a beach in Hawaii from my gallery. I showed it to them and they grabbed my phone and looked at it with awe.

"This is cool. . . you get to travel around the world. I wish I could be an RK like you," it was Martha who dreamily said that.

I scoffed, "Hashtag dream on. Your parents need to work extra hard just like mine to be rich as well."

"Why does the picture have a watermark on it?" Lulu asked.

My eyes widened and I took the phone from them quickly, "I don't know what you're talking about."

They were about to say something, but thankfully, Mrs. Reyes went inside the classroom.

"Good morning, class. Have a seat and we'll start with our discussion."
