"They're going to love you." Lauren reassured as she pulled her newlywed wife up the porch of her Abuela's house. This was the first time Dinah was going to meet Lauren's extended family, and the younger girl was freaking out.

"What if they don't, though? Like, what if they're super pissed because we didn't invite any of them to the wedding? Or if they're pissed because we got married before I met them all?"

"They aren't like that, Sweetie. My mom's side of the family is very relaxed." Lauren explained. "Now, my father's side are the ones that are going to spend most of the time yelling at us both."

Dinah's face instantly showed panic. Of all the things they had taught her in the Police Academy, they never did teach her how to wart off your wife's angry family members.

"Baby, stop panicking so much!" Lauren whined, stepping forward and wrapping her arms around the taller girl's waist. "They're going to love you."

Dinah took a deep breath. "I hope so."

Lauren placed a soft kiss on Dinah's cheek, causing the younger girl to automatically place a kiss on her forehead. It had become a habit. "Alright, let's do this."

Lauren moved to push the door to her Abuela's house open, immediately exposing them to the magnificent smell of whatever her grandmother was cooking. "We're here!" Lauren chirped into the house, and a stampede of footsteps could be heard throughout the halls before four women appeared in the foyer.

"Mi hija!" A short, silver haired lady called out as she engulfed Lauren into a hug.

"Abuela Rita!" Lauren cried, hugging her grandmother tightly. "I missed you." The three other women quickly gave Lauren a hug as well. "Aunt Silvia, Aunt Gloria, and Aunt Maribel." Lauren introduced to her wife.

Dinah watched the interaction with a smile, but ultimately felt uncomfortable under the gaze of the other three women in the room. She cleared her throat and stuck her hand out to the woman. "Dinah Hansen."

The three older women looked at each other and giggle before pulling Dinah into a group hug, leaving Dinah stunned. Her muscular arms wrapped awkwardly around the women. Lauren looked over from her conversation with her Abuela and her eyes softened at the sight of her wife and her aunts.

"Awe!" She cooed, taking her phone out to take a snapshot.

"Ella es muy bella." Rita winked making Lauren blush and nod in agreement. "Donde están mis nietos?"

"Abuela! No puedes decir esas cosas alrededor mi esposa." Lauren chided.

"Por qué no? Ella no quiere los niños?" Rita's eyes widened.

"No se." Lauren shrugged. She looked over to her wife that was now talking to her aunts, well more like listening to them talk. "How about we go over to the living room with everyone else? I'm sure they'd all like to see us too."

"Si, vamos!" Rita gestured with her hand, hurrying back into the hallway she came from. The three older women followed behind the small elder energetically. Dinah and Lauren stayed behind for a second.

"Wow, they're...peppy." Dinah stuttered, obviously taken aback at the interation.

"I know. It's a lot, and I'm so sorry, but I promise you that it'll be over before you know it." Lauren stood on her tippy toes and brushed her lips across her wife's. "And if you're good, there might be a treat in it for you later." She winked.

Dinah couldn't help but smirk. "And if I'm bad?" she asked, placing her hands on Lauren's hips and pulling her forward.

"I don't know." Lauren bit her lip seductively. "I may have to punish you for that."

"I might like that." Dinah whispered back, leaning down to kiss Lauren.

"HEY, LADIES! WE APPRECIATE THE PASSION, BUT LET'S KEEP IT PG13. THE WALLS IN THIS HOUSE ARE LIKE PAPER!" They heard Lauren's aunt Silvia call back.

Dinah's face instantly turned a dark crimson color. "Oh, God! They're going to hate me!" Dinah whisper-yelled.

"Calm down." Lauren giggled. "They aren't like that." She grabbed the younger girl's hands and pulled her down the hall.

"So what do you do for a living, Dinah?" Lauren's Uncle Kal asked at the dinner table.

Dinah looked up from her plate and around the table at all the eyes that were looking at her. "I, um, I'm a police officer for the NYPD."

"Really?" Maribel asked with wide eyes. "You have a gun?"

"I do." Dinah nodded.

"What division?" Kal asked, popping another spoonful of fish into his mouth.

"I'm with Vice right now, but I hope to be promoted soon."

"Promoted to what?" Rita questioned.

"Hopefully detective."

Lauren nodded happily. "Detective Dinah Hansen. How fucking hot is that?"

"Lauren! Language!" Gloria scolded. "If your parents were here, they'd make you wash your mouth out with soap."

"You should hear her at home." Dinah joked. "She's an even bigger potty mouth."

"Really?" Gloria asked, sending a glare towards her niece

"Oh, yeah." Dinah nodded. "She's vulgar." Lauren kicked her wife playfully underneath the table, telling her to stop talking, but Dinah took it as a reason to continue. She went on to tell the story about how Lauren was once kicked out of a restaurant for using too much profanity.

By the time the story was done, the older adults around the table were all giggling, and Lauren was angrily trying to plead her case. "In my defense, the waitress was flirting with my wife. I couldn't just sit back and let that happen."

"But you didn't have to make her cry!" Dinah added with a chuckle.

"Oh well." Lauren shrugged.

Kal clasped a hand on Dinah's shoulder and sent her a proud smile. "I think I'm gonna like you, Kid."

"See?" Lauren whispered on the car ride back to her parent's house where they were staying while in Miami. "I told you that they were going to love you."

Dinah smiled and grabbed Lauren's hand over the consel. "I love them too." She placed a kiss on the skin of her hand. "And I love you. Thank you for introducing them to me. I had a really great time."

"You're welcome." Lauren smiled lovingly at her wife.
