As the door to her parent's house slammed behind the angry woman storming out, Lauren's vision blurred to such an extent that her surroundings were unrecognizable. After over three years of being with Normani and being the happiest she'd ever been, they'd gotten into an argument that tore them apart after nearly an hour of screaming at each other.

"Normani, I'm not going to stop studying with Ariana because you're jealous, okay?" Lauren shouted, thankful that her parents were both at work. Ally was upstairs in her bedroom most likely listening intently to the argument, and Lauren was sorry that she had to hear this, but her anger made it impossible to stop the words spewing from her mouth.

Normani crossed her arms and glared at her girlfriend. "I'm not comfortable with it, Lauren."

"Why aren't you? Have I ever given you a reason to be jealous?!" Lauren questioned, throwing her hands up in frustration and taking a step towards the younger girl only to have her take a step back.

"What the hell do you mean, Lauren? Since when do you even talk to people?" Normani demanded.

"So now I can't talk to people? She's just a nice girl in my class that knows a lot about engineering, and so I made a friend. I thought you'd actually be happy for me!"

"I just don't understand why can make friends with some random girl in your class, but you can't even attempt to like my friends?!"

Lauren's eyes widened as rage flowed through her. "You mean the people that make fun of me every time I walk into a room?! I've tried for three fucking years to be a civil person, Normani! I've gone out with them and been respectful, but all I get are rude comments behind my back!"

Normani's mouth clicked shut at Lauren's confession. "You hear them?"

"Of fucking course I do! But I choose to ignore it because I'm in love with you! I love you so much, and I don't care about what your friends are like because all I want is you!" Lauren screeched louder than anything before.

Normani's face dropped and she swallowed hard. "I love you, too, Lauren. I really do. I'm so in love with you that it hurts to breathe sometimes, but I don't think I can be okay with you hanging out with some girl that I don't know."

"I'm not going to stop seeing her because you're jealous." Lauren shook her head, trying to step forward again. This time Normani didn't step back and allowed Lauren to step into her space bubble.

"No, Lauren. If you can't stop seeing her, then I don't think we can work out."

"What?" Lauren froze. "Are you giving me an ultimatum?"

"Yeah, Lauren. It's me or her."

"Are you fucking serious right now? What's gotten into you?"

Normani shook her head and stepped backwards towards the door. "See, I thought it'd be an easy answer, but I guess not. Whatever, Lauren. Have fun with her. We're done."

"Lo?" Ally asked, stepping down the stairs cautiously. "Lauren, are you okay?"

Lauren felt like her lungs were collapsing and her vision was getting blurred to the point where she could only see shades of light. As she tried to inhale, there was a barrier that stopped her breathing from getting any deeper than a few short gasps. Ally knew all too well what was happening. Lauren was about to have a panic attack.

"Lauren," Ally rushed over to her sister and placed her hands on both of her cheeks, cupping them. "listen to me, Lauren. Breathe, okay?"

Lauren shook her head, feeling like her chest was going to explode. "I-I c-c-can't..." her knees buckled harshly underneath her sending her to the ground. Her hands caught her fall, but her head was spinning and it she knew it was only a matter of time before she passed out.

"Lauren, just think about something else." Ally panicked. She hadn't witnessed one of Lauren's panic attacks since she was 11 years old, and her parents were always there to help her. Since Lauren met Normani, Normani had been able to calm Lauren down the second one even threatened to arise.

Ally sighed when she realized what she would have to do...she had to call Normani.

Leaving Lauren's side for a second, she pulled her phone out of her pocket and immediately pressed Normani's contact. The phone only rang twice before a sniffling Normani picked up.

"Ally, if you're calling to tell me to make up with Lauren, stay out of it. This is between me and her."

Ally rolled her eyes. "Mani, Lauren is having a panic attack and I don't know how to stop it. You're the only one that can help her."

Normani was silent for a minute before the phone hung up and Ally prayed that Normani was on her way. The door swung open not even a minute later, and Normani ran in with a tear-stained face. "What's going on?"

"What do you mean? She's having a panic attack!"

Normani looked at Lauren who was on her hands and knees in the middle of the Jauregui's front door area—exactly where she had left her before. Lauren was trying her best to get air into her lungs by hanging her head low to the ground and breathing in her nose and out her mouth. All techniques that her doctor had told her before.

Normani kneeled down beside Lauren and placed her hands on Lauren's shoulders. "Lo, baby, look at me."

Lauren forced herself to look up into the face of the girl that caused her entire breakdown to begin with. "M-Mani...I can't stop it."

"Baby, breathe with me." Normani stressed, taking deep breaths just as Lauren had been before. Ally watched on with tears in her eyes and a hammering heart.

It took nearly three minutes for Lauren's breathing to get back to normal and her vision to be restored. She glanced around the room at Ally and Normani who both were staring at her with worried looks in their eyes and tears running down their faces.

"I-I'm sorry." Lauren rasped out looking directly into Normani's eyes.

Normani was confused. "For what, Lo?"

"For making you come back. I know you don't want to be around me right now, and my stupid body just can't seem to be without you." Lauren shook her head. "I'm okay now."

Normani nodded and helped Lauren to her feet before Ally rushed over and gave Lauren tight hug. "Oh, Lo. I was so scared."

"I know, I'm sorry, Allycat. I just couldn't make it stop." Lauren hugged her sister back for the first time in what seemed like forever. "Thank you for calling for help. I don't know how to stop them right now."

Normani watched the interaction with a smile on her face. With something so serious happening, she couldn't help but feel like the argument they'd had not even twenty minutes ago was so stupid. Why had she done something so drastic over something so small?

Lauren turned to Normani with an exhausted pout plastered on her face and for the first time ever Normani felt uncomfortable being in Lauren's presence. She couldn't help but feel responsible for Lauren's exhaustion, and it killed her to know that she had put Lauren through all that pain selfishly.

Normani stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Lauren's waist while burying her head in her chest. "I'm sorry." She mumbled into her girlfriend's chest.

"It's okay." Lauren breathed. As long as Normani was with her everything was alright. "You're here now. It's okay."

Ally watched with a happy clap. "Yay! Laurmani is back together!"

Normani pulled her head out of Lauren's chest and rolled her eyes in amusement. "Oh, please. You know that we would never actually break up. She's an annoying brat, but she's my annoying brat."

"Wow, thanks so much." Lauren deadpanned.

Ally thought for a minute before cocking her head to side in confusion. "I have a question...how did you get back here so quickly?"

"I was sitting in the driveway when you called. I couldn't actually bring myself to leave."

Lauren smiled and pressed a kiss to Normani's forehead. "I'm glad you didn't."

"Of course not. I love you, Lauren." Normani smiled up at her girlfriend.

"I love you, too." Lauren whispered back and attached their lips together.
