It had been a week since we'd started living in the forest. The tall trees, and chirping birds in the morning took some getting used to. Blake, Galactical, Kya, and Autumn all had learned to run faster, as had I. We moved swiftly among the trees.
Okay, enough of that. Blake and I had decided to go to town, while Galactical, Kya, and Autumn were left to protect the territory.
"I think the nearest town is west." We were walking down a path covered with leaves. I heard Sylvia yell Jello's name, and I found myself hoping she wouldn't find him. Why? I don't know. Probably because she'd get hurt.
"Shouldn't we fly?" I asked, looking up at the gray, clouded over sky. A raindrop splashed against my fur. "Sure." Blake answered tersely. We unfolded our wings, and soared into the sky, flying west.
Town wasn't far away. I looked into the village, and saw wolves. Only wolves, roaming the streets. No people in sight. Hopefully they're transformers. As we flew on, I found myself looking at the path below, leading up to the town. It had become a gravel road as we'd flew on. Blake and I landed next to a red furred wolf with blue eyes. "Who might you newcomers be?" The wolf asked. I knew he wasn't being hostile. "I'm Sky." I could tell Blake didn't want to say his name. "He's Blake." "I'm Flame." Flame smiled. "Welcome to our town!" He howled. The wolves in the village stopped what they were doing and howled to the 'great protector' as he'd been mentioned earlier.
Flame was gone while Blake and I looked around for things. Until I saw something- a shining light. Blake changed into Jake and picked it up, studying it. "It's-" "DON'T TOUCH THAT!" Flame roared, leaping onto Jake. At this point, I had to intervene. I did, and I threw Flame off of Jake. "YOU HAVE TAKEN THE RING OF SKY!" My memories came flooding back. My blue ring... It's what had given me my blue fur.
"Wait!" I called to Flame as he reached for the ring. "That's mine." "No its not. That ring belonged to Sky, or, in human form, Sora. Sora protected this town, and I took it into my paws later on. I will forever be in debt to Sora, for she saved my life." I remembered the day I'd saved Flame. His mom had been killed by Rex, and I'd ran and saved Flame from what would have been a brutal death.
He'd thanked me and cried for months over his moms death, and I'd watched over him until he was two, when he was old enough to look after himself. "I am Sky. I am Sora." "No you're not, liar. You know, many fakers have come in pretending to be Sky." I'd trained Flame not to trust wolves until he had evidence they were nice. I changed into Sora. "See?" I insisted, pointing at my human body. "Sky, it really is you!" Flame started whimpering like a puppy as I changed back to Sky. "I'd like to take my ring, to protect it. Rex is dead, he died earlier last month. And I'm with every wolf friend I had in my past life. Thank you for holding my ring all this time." I licked Flame on the muzzle, then hugged him. We left after that, spreading our wings and flying off.
"You know him?" Blake asked. "Yes, why?" "You never told me about how you saved his life when we were married." Blake averted his gaze, staring at the ground below. "That doesn't mean I didn't love you!" I yelled, loud enough for every wolf to hear. Blake's face reddened. "Look, I'm sorry, okay?" He nodded. I landed before him, and fast pawed it up to Autumn and Kya. Galactical was at the nearby pond, drinking water.
"Did anything happen here?" I asked them. They both shook their heads. Autumn pointed toward a dead deer lying at the den entrance. "That's dinner." He said. I smiled and nodded. Autumn, Kya, and Blake went into the den and curled up into tiny balls. They were already going to sleep. I had insisted to take the night watch tonight, though no wolf had agreed with it.
When Galactical came back, she also insisted there was no need for a night watch wolf. As we all fell asleep, I made sure my ring was hidden safely nearby.
