The sunlight streamed in through my open window, shining onto the wooden floorboards. "Sky!" Someone yelled in my ear. I leaped up, smashing my head on the ceiling. What a great way to start the day. "Blake, what is it?" I asked, fearful something bad had happened. "Come see for yourself. Just to warn you- it's about chickens." I followed his blue Pelt outside. My scream caught in my throat. There were five chickens strewn about on the ground- and they seemed to have exploded. "Oh. Who did this?!" I became Sky and hit the ground with a paw. "We don't know," Blake gestured to the teeth marks on the chickens. "But we assume it was some animal." "No animal can make something explode." I flapped my wings. "I'm going to go for a fly." I caught an air current that carried me over the tree tops. I glided over them, pricking up my ears and listening for any sound. I heard a scuffling noise from where the canopy was thicker so I couldn't see who was making the noise. Flying over to that place, I positioned self right next to the top of the tree. I saw a reddish brown pelt, and the white tip of a tail. The animal lifted its head, and I saw a pair of ears poking out from under a shrub. The animal sped away. A squealing noise came from inside the shrub. Flying over to it, I noticed a squirrel screeching. Pausing to glare at the annoying animal, I flew around the shrub, looking for that brown animal. Wondering what it was, I found myself flying into the woods, and, since I was lost in thought, I was now lost. Lucky me. "Hello?" My call echoed throughout the woods, rolling off of the trees like waves receding from the beach, then coming back, louder each time. I flapped my wings and flew up toward the tops of the trees. I felt teeth in my paw. Turning to see who it was, I growled. "Calm down! Sky, I need to talk to you." It was the brown animal! Now that I was closer to it, I could see that it was a fox. In my past life, I'd gotten wolves to ally with foxes and dogs. "Before you ask, I'm Chask." Chask let go of my paw and I landed beside him, folding my wings at my sides. Becoming a normal wolf, I followed Chask. He led me into the darker part of the forest, and suddenly, light was everywhere. "Woah. So, what'd you want to talk about?" I turned to Chask. "There is this group of dogs that fights us foxes. And you allied us a while ago! They don't listen to you, now that your Reborn, they think that if you can die, your not the Great Wolf, or our savior." I struggled to reply. "Can't you do anything about it?" Chask asked. "I can do my best. Right now I'm dealing with a problem of my own. It's a dog pack, but their leader is nice. They fought us and almost killed my friend," I looked to the ground, then stared back st Chask, gaze softened. "Flash was his name. He's fine now, but the dog pack is only one of the dangers in our forest." Chask nodded. "Well, thanks." Chask then raced off into the darkness, the lights flickering off. I flew out of the forest and finally made it back to where Blake was. "Blake! I need your help with something!" I called across the clearing. Blake ran up to me, and I could tell something was wrong. His hackles were raised and a low growl rumbled in his throat. "No!" Blake yelled, snarling at me. I stepped back. What was up with him? "I'm not helping you! Solve your own stupid problems!" Blake flew away. "What was that?" Galactical asked me. "I don't know."
What was up with Blake?
