My name is Sora. I died at age 104. When I went to heaven, I was given a choice- to be related to myself, have the same name as myself and be my daughters daughter. I chose this. I was sent into the world. Into my mansion. It was mine in both lives...
"Sky, lets go hunting!" Flash yipped. We were running low on food. "Okay." I decided. Flash and I ran out into the woods. I tasted the air. "There's some deer over there." I said, leading the way. "A doe and its fawn. There's some rabbits and squirrels upwind that way, if you don't feel up to the deer." "No, the deer's fine. Let's try the doe. You take the exit, I'll chase it toward you. See that undergrowth? Once the deer is in front of me, you leap out." Flash seemed to have some skill. "Alright." I moved swiftly and silently through the undergrowth, ending up behind the deer. My scent was being carried behind me. The deer's scent flooded my nose. I studied the deer. It seemed healthy. I shifted my gaze to the fawn. I heard a stick crack. My ears perked up. I stared at Flash. He was in a hunters crouch, ready to spring. I stalked forward, moving silently. I sprang, sailing over the deer, and Flash. Flash landed on the doe's back. She bucked and kicked. Flash dug in with his claws and teeth. The doe raced for the exit. My teeth were bared, ears down, hackles and tail raised. The doe stopped. I leaped onto her back. I bit into her throat. Warm blood spurted into my mouth. She fell over. I looked into her eyes. "Thank you." A flicker of recognition was in her eyes. She died quickly. Flash swiveled his head to stare at the fawn. She was crying. I heard a ruffling noise from behind me. The world seemed to go in slow motion. A huge German Shepherd leaped onto me. I was pinned down. I couldn't find Flash. Drool dripped from the knife-sharp fangs. "You're on my territory." The dog growled. "I- I didn't know!" I sputtered. "I just hunt here-" Sharp claws dug into my right cheek. I felt them tracing something. "Get out of here!" The dog shoved me onto my paws. I turned right around and growled. His ears went down. Then he snarled and bared his teeth. "Do you dare challenge me?" He laughed, his companions in hysterics. I stared at Flash, his shoulder wound was open to the bone. Then my gaze was on the deer. We needed meat for us wolves to have strength. They wouldn't let me leave unless I won the fight. If I ran, Flash might die. It was up to me.

I flapped my wings, flying right at the dog. I knocked him into the bushes. Run-flying, I shoved Flash onto my back, gripped the dead doe by a leg, and flew as fast and hard as I could toward home.
My wings burned. I was so close to home. I could now see the village below. I heard a moan. Flash was awake! I stopped flapping my wings, keeping them along the length of my body. I spiraled downward. just before I touched the ground, I flew up. I felt some teeth dig into my paw. I was being pulled down. Flash stirred. "Flash!" I yelled through muffled teeth. "Take the deer!" I dropped the doe. Flash leaped off my back. I watched him run off with the doe, not looking back at me. I turned to see who had pulled me out the sky. That German Shepherd. "Who are you?" I demanded. He dropped my paw. "My name is Drake." He looked at the ground. "Why did you chase me?" I picked myself off the ground, then sat down.

"There are dangers is this forest. My pack isn't the worst. There was another pack- The Bloodshed pack- watching you while you hunted, and while you fought me. I followed and pulled you down because I thought they had you. Or something. I- I'll go." Drake fled. "Thanks." whispered. I knew he heard me nonetheless. Standing up, I ran toward the medicine den. Flash was getting treatment. Lotus was beside him. I supposed there were new dangers in the forest. At least we had food.
