"Alright, Chris it's time for your training. You could choose to be a fighter or a healer." I said. "I choose to be a fighter." Chris said, her tail tip bobbing back and forth from excitement. "Let's start with flying, because I feel that it's the hardest to master. To open your wings just imagine them." Chris closed her eyes, and four seconds later, her wings popped up. The bottoms were blue and the tops were black. "Flap your wings." I told her, opening my wings and soaring into the sky. She followed me a little slower, because she was still getting the hang of it, but I could tell that with practice she would be a wonderful flyer. I taught her all the tricks I knew and soon, she was almost as good as me. "Now we can move onto hunting." I flew toward the hunting area, Chris gliding next to me. We landed on the forest floor and I heard a squeal. My ears stood straight up. "Chris, keep your wings out. We might have to fly out of here. We need to know what that was." I crept forward, Chris trailing behind me, her tail stuck straight out behind her. "There." She said, bounding over to a squirrel carcass that was ripped in half. Blood stained the leaves around it, and I could smell the faint scent of a wolf. "Back up. Slowly." I said, staring at the wolf that was in the tree next to Chris. The wolf jumped at Chris, claws outstretched. I intercepted him in midair, yelling for Chris to fly and get help. She took off immediately. I bit the wolf's shoulder and lates it open to the bone. He glared at me, then grinned. "The names Sprint." He said, before ripping a chunk out of my ear. He smiled at me and bit down hard on my paw. I winced but managed to scratch his nose. I tried flapping my wings and flying away, but he latched onto my paw and yanked me back down to earth. He stepped back when he heard wings flapping overhead. "Nice fight. See you later." He slunk into the forest. Kya landed next to me and gasped. She worked quickly, trying to heal my wounds. It took four hours. When I was patched up, I told them about Sprint and his black and yellow coat. Chris shuddered. It was the Sprint that had killed her family.
