The dry leaves made crinkling sounds as I stepped on them, my paws pounding the ground. I looked behind me at my pursuer, and struggled not to laugh. Blake was running clumsily because of all the treatments Kya had given him to keep him from turning evil. "YAAAA!" Everest landed on top of me. "Ow." I said. "YOU HURT MY SISTER!" Yelled Galactical, ramming into Everest. Blake reached us and laughed. He helped me up. "Who wants to go hunting?!" He called, which instantly stopped Galactical from hitting Everest a second time. "Food?" She asked. "Yep. Let's go!" Everest yipped excitedly. It was his first time going hunting with us. He'd only been here for a week, and he was settling in nicely. Luna was, too, but she was choosing the path of a medicine wolf. Kya now had to mentor two wolves. We raced through the woods, Blake somehow keeping up, his tongue lolling out of the side of his mouth. He grinned at me and ran faster. "STOP!" Everest screamed. I skidded to a stop, nearly falling off the edge of a cliff. "How did that get here?" I asked, confused. "The forest is growing... everything is moving around and new things are being placed every day." Everest said, backing up with his ears against his head. "How did you send the cliff, though?" Galactical asked. "I just felt it." Whoosh! Something nicked my ear. Blake came over to me and pulled it out, laying it on the forest floor. It was a sleeping dart. I felt woozy instantly. "Guys! Run away!" I screamed, realizing what was happening. Blake's eyes were wild with fear. "I'm not leaving you!" He yelled back, over the sound of Everest and Galactical paws hitting the ground. "Please, Blake. You have to go!" Blake shook his head at me. That was the last thing I saw before a gang of wolves circled us. I watched as Blake tried fighting them off. They dragged him off first. I had blacked out by the time they came back. I woke up in a metal cage, in human form. Jake was on a table, being stabbed with all sorts of darts. "JAKE!" I screamed his name over and over again until my throat was hoarse. Sobs rocked my body. When they finally let Jake stand, they took him over to my cage, which was large enough for four people, and two wolves. His eyes were crazy and sweat poured down his face. He screamed a punched the door to my cage. I gasped, shocked. The people that used to be wolves smiled down at me. "The process is complete. Jake hates Sora." Those words caused another round of crying. A few minutes later, Jake looked calmer. He glanced at me from the same spot he'd been standing in. I put my finger out of the bars, wondering what he'd do. His eyes still looked crazy, but not as much. The people had left. "Jake..." I tried. "You think you can manipulate me again? Really? You made me hate everyone I loved! You ruined my life! I hate you! I HATE YOU!" I shrunk back into the cage and forced back the tears. Jake hated me. I didn't even try to fight it- he was probably gone. The people came back a few minutes later and let me out. They opened the door accidentally, so I turned into Sky, knocked them all unconscious, grabbed Jake, who had turned into Blake, and ran him out the door. He punched and kicked and screamed, but I kept running until I found the medicine hut. "Kya! Jake-they did something to him- and now he hates me!" I felt another round of tears coming as I dropped Jake onto the bed in the medicine hut. "Don't worry- he'll come back. I know he will." Autumn tried comforting me, but it was no use. I spent four days hunting and training. Anything to keep my mind off Jake. Then I realized that he wasn't dead- he was still alive- just different. I felt better. I started to hope that he'd be fixed. Yep days later, Kya called me and said that Jake wanted to see me. When I reached the containment area Jake was in, he stared at me. "We're supposed to be in love. Right? That's what Kya told me. But your a monster. That's what I think. You manipulated so many people. They died for you. And me- you hurt me the most. You got me to leav my family, all so I could save the world! YOU HAVE RUINED MY LIFE! I wanted to tell you that." I burst into tears and ran out the door. I couldn't take it. Jake was different now, and I couldn't help him. No one could. He couldn't be fixed. I spent four more days training and hunting- until Kya came up to me and said that Jake was starting to get himself back. I ran into the medicine hut. "Sora... I'm so sorry.. I don't want to.. the pictures, they make me hate you.." Jake shuddered and I couldn't take it anymore. I ran into his containment area and hugged him. "Fight it." I whispered in his ear. "Come back to me. Please." Jake shoved me away. His eyes looked crazy again. "Sora, get out of there!" Kya warned. "No. I can help him." Jake advanced on me. "Jake, stop!" He stopped. "Do you remember when we were fourteen in our first lives? Bianca ended up eating a whole box of chocolates on a dare that you created." I laughed a little. "I-I remember." Jake smiled. Then his smile turned into a frown. But for a moment, he was really here. I started hoping that he would come back.
