The next night I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, when I heard a moan. I leaped out of bed and became Sky. Convey was instantly at my side. "What is it, Sky?" "I heard something." Convey followed me as I ran out of the door and into the black night. "There." Though you could barely see him, there was Blake, wandering, hungry and delirious, into our town. "Blake!" I yipped, rushing toward him. "Sky." He said coldly. I stopped in my tracks. "I'm going to kill you." He barked menacingly. Convey stepped forward. "You won't lay a single paw on her!" He yowled.

Blake fell, too hungry and tired to speak

Blake fell, too hungry and tired to speak. I studied him. He had many wounds, including one that looked to be from another wolf. It smelled fresh. I carried Blake on my back toward the healer. I dropped him onto the soft bed. "Jaya, he's still evil. He hasn't been able to fight it off." Jaya was our most experienced healer, other than Kya. Convey and I went back to our separate homes. I fell asleep once more.

Daylight streamed through the open window. I ran out of bed, became Sky, and raced to the healers. Kya was now working on a cure for Blake's brainwashed state, but had found nothing. A deep frown crossed my face. It quickly faded when I saw that Sayara, Jaya's sister, was finally awake from her coma. She'd been in here for months. I watched her go. Then, Jaya turned back to Blake. She made me leave. She said I couldn't be here while she helped him, for fear it might trigger something and make him go mad. I felt cold and lonely.

Blake, will you ever be the same?
