if renesmee doesn't love declan, then why has she jumped in the pool to save him?
she doesn't know. or does she?
in the ambulance, she is shaking and crying. she doesn't know his family's phone numbers, so she can't call them. they're unaware of their son's behavior. they don't know that he drinks secretly at home. they have never suspected him, when the drinks have gone missing.
in the hospital, the tears won't stop running down renesmee's face. she is afraid. what if he has hit his head hard?
as she is crying, she hears footsteps and when she raises her head, she sees a man and a woman, rushing to the doctor. she hears them asking for declan cartwright.
they must be his parents. they bear some resemblance to him.
the doctor probably has contacted them.
she stands up and goes to them. with tear-strained face, she introduces herself.
they are more than thankful for bringing declan to the hospital as soon as possible.
the mother, a brunette around 40 years of age, tightly hugs renesmee, crying in her shoulder.
"he is our only one. we have no other children. thank you," she says through heart wrenching sobs.
that is when renesmee realizes the important of a family.
