"Caleb should be here by now," I said to Hayley.

"Yeah. It's almost 4:00. He should have picked us up at 3:30," Hayley said, looking at her iPod.

"Maybe he got a detention," I shrugged.

"But he wouldn't have," Hayley said, her brows furrowing.

"Yeah. . . I'll try calling him." I pulled out my phone.

I dialed Caleb's number and called him, but it went right to voicemail.

"Something's wrong," Hayley said.

"Or his phone is just dead. It's always dead," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Let's walk home," Hayley said.

"Or we could steal those bikes," I said, pointing to two bikes leaned against the lost and found box near the back door of the school.

"I don't know how to ride. Let's just run." Hayley said, already reading towards home.

"Okay then," I said, following Hayley.

"How do you not know where caleb is?!" Mom asked.

"He wouldn't answer his phone, and he was supposed to pick us up so we could get Sweet Frog," I said.

"Oh no. I hope Paul had nothing to do with it," Mom said, calling the police.

I ran upstairs and sat with Hayley on her bed. We were starting to cry, worried out of our minds. Where's caleb?

Really sorry for the short chapter... I'm busy rn
