Ahh, twenty years later. One husband later. Two kids later.

My childhood was absolutely terrible until I met Annie.

We've been best friends ever since.

She has three kids; twin girls and a baby boy.

Our kids enjoy playing together, my little Anna Grace playing with Annie's girls Noelle and Hayleigh. My son Logan and her son Caleb Michael.

We decided to name our girls after each other and our sons after the brother we looked up to, Caleb Logan Leblanc.

Caleb has a wife, Ebony, and a son named Tyson.

My birth mother ended up in jail for life, accompanied by my birth father, Paul, who only has 20 years, though.

Annie and I have shared so many memories. From going to Hershey Park shortly after the kidnapping incident, to cheering together in high school, to parties in college. We've stayed right by each other's side.

We will always be best friends, through the easy times and hard times.

We will always be that nickname we used to call ourselves, back when Annie was always her mother's precious little one, and when I was a broken soul, with no one to love me.

We will always be Baby Independent.
