Before I even got a chance to catch Cameron and get my revenge, his phone rang. It was Stephanie. Yay.
"Hey, Steph... Yeah? I'm with Kale's sister Meredith..... So? ...... Are you serious?.... Steph, you're overreacting..... You can't..... Why..... So were done then? Over something so stupid?..... Great. I'm happy too then." And he hung his phone up. Clearly, they was one less couple in the world now.
"Umm, I don't mean to be rude, or be nosey, but what just happened?" I mean come on, I had to ask.
"Steph was being the overreacting self centered bitch she is. So, she chose to break up with me because I was hanging out with another girl. She does this all the time. One sec she's pissed then she comes back to me. It's fucked up really. "
"Well. Umm I don't know if I should be so sad for you, or celebrate for you. " to be honest, it's weird how everything just went so, I don't know, my way. BUT I WAS SO DAMN HAPPY.
"We should celebrate. " he said with a laugh. "Let's go to a restaurant that I'm crazy for."
"So we're going out to dinner?"
"Yeah, why not? We're celebrating aren't we?"
And like the crazy me....
"So it's a date?"
He seemed to be taken back a little.
"Yeah..... It's a pretend date. "
"Pretend?"
"Yeah, pretend for now. "
"Close enough. "

So we went to some seafood place called the Crab Mate. And I decided to call Kale and ask him what was going on, since I haven't seen the family around too much.
We ordered and the line was ringing. And ringing. And ringing. And then someone picked up. It was Jackie.
"Hey Jackie! What's up? Where's Kale?"
"Umm, Kale is a bit upset at the moment. And, the whole family is. "
You could hear the way she talked that she was crying just now. And I was getting scared. I've been through so much sadness already in the past week that I'm proud of myself for not being depressed yet. Cause I've been there. I finally started getting a little happier with Cameron around. But all of that seemed to end very soon.
"Jackie. What happened?" I was trembling now.
"Mere, dad's on life support. "
