Meredith's POV
I walk into the small little clinic, and sit in the waiting room. I take in the plain surroundings, all of the children magazines, all of the health guides. I take a deep breath and watch a woman and her father sitting next to each other. She shows her love for him simply by talking to him, laughing with him, making his days worth what they should be.
"Meredith Brooks?"
I look up to a short lady in a nurse uniform standing next to the white counter. I simply smile as I stand up to follow her into a room behind the counter down the hall.
"Doctor Blake will be with you in just a moment."
She gives me a sweet smile as she leaves me by myself in the small little room.
I look down at my hand, as I pick at my mother's pearl bracelet she gave me moments before her last breath. I treasure it almost more than anything.
Blake walks into the room in his regular white wardrobe along with his white smile. I smile as I wrap my arms around his waist as he gets closer and closer to me. I plant a soft kiss on his lips and he stares down at me.
"Hows your first week going love?" I ask him.
"Its going amazing, I sure didn't expect you to come visit me today."
"I was actually going back and forth while running errands and studying for my finals when I heard a certain news I thought I'd share with you."
One of his eyebrows slowly raise and I couldn't help but laugh. "Oh? Whats that?"
I let go of him, and dig into my purse to find a soft white paper. I hand it into his hands.
"Whats this?" And I can practically see the tears in his eyes. "So this is happening?"
I wrap my hands around his neck and bring him closer than ever. I look into his green eyes and share the joyous moment with him. "Yeah, I think we are finally having one of our own." We both laugh as he picks me up in the tiny doctor's room and kisses me on the forehead.
And in that moment, I truly did feel blessed for the hell of a roller coaster ride I call my life.
