***Hey guys! Did you see Hunter's performance on iHeartRadio's country festival a few nights ago? It was amhayesing, I cried <3 Anyways, I hope yall are enjoying this story so far! Here is chapter 6!***

Melody's POV- 2 weeks later

I've been in Nashville for almost a month now, even though it feels like it's been a year. I'm still not happy about being here, but it looks like I don't have a choice. I've started to know my way around town, having driven around countless amounts of times whenever I get bored. Some of the people in Starbucks have begun to recognize me now, but not as 'Melody from California', they know me as 'Melody who sat with Hunter Hayes a few weeks ago'. It's not exactly how I would like to be known, but it's better than not being known at all, I suppose.

My friend back in California, Skylar, hasn't been calling me like she said she would. She was really my only friend in California, pretty much everyone else either didn't like me, or was apparently 'intimidated' by me. Not that intimidation is a bad thing, though. It's nice sometimes having people clear the way for you as you walk by. Seeing as Skylar hasn't offered to contact me, other than Hunter, I don't know anyone here. But let's not talk about Hunter, I mean he's the last thing I need right now.

As I'm sitting on my bed with my laptop next to me, I see an ad for a new book that apparently just came out a few days ago.

Check out the new book from John Green- The Fault In Our Stars! Follow Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters on their journey of love and loss. In your local book stores today!

That looks interesting, and I've always heard John Green was an incredible author, so I decide to go to my local Barnes and Noble to find the book. Shutting off my laptop, I grab my purse and phone, before slipping on my high heels that I bought right before I left for Nashville. Walking out the door of my house, I climb into my dusty truck and crank the engine. Pulling out of my driveway, I start the drive to Barnes and Noble.

After a few minutes of driving in silence, I turn on the radio, instantly wishing I hadn't. The first song that came on was his song. I was sure of it. The lyrics sounded all to familiar, talking about wrapping some chick up and kissing her. Yep, it was Hunter. Just the man I needed. Please, darling, note the sarcasm. Switching off the radio, I am yet again driving in silence. Twenty minutes later, I pull into Barnes and Noble.

Climbing back out of my truck, I grab my purse and walk across the parking lot into the store, my heels clicking along the pavement. A wave of cool air hits me as I walk into the store,. Thank God for air conditioning. I think to myself. A saleswoman greets me with a smile. "Can I help you find anything?" she asks, in a thick southern accent. "No, thanks." I reply, looking around.

Shelf after book filled shelf stood in front of me. Overwhelmed, I start on one isle of books and slowly walk through the isles.

1 hour later

Making my way up to the cash register with an armful of books that I never intended to get  in the first place, I stop and wait in line behind the person in front of me. I only meant to get that one book, and I did, along with four others. They all looked so good, I couldn't not get them! The man in front of me turns around to look at me. "You look like you've got a handful! Here, you can go in front of me, those look pretty heavy." he offers, stepping to the side. I shake my head. "Oh, no, it's fine. Thanks, though." I say, yet again, the shy side of me creeping out. He smiles. "No, no. Please, I insist." he protests.

I hesitantly step in front of him, taking his place in line. "I take it you like John Green?" he asks, as the line moves forward a bit. I chuckle slightly, then remember to not be so warm and fuzzy. "What do you think? I wouldn't be holding his books for no reason, now would I?"  I reply sharply. There we go, much better! He looks shocked at my remark. 'I, uh, sorry, stupid question, I guess." he says, putting his hands up in defense.
