***Hey guys! So really quick- I updated the cover for this story! If you look, it's a picture of a girl looking out over a dock. The girl in the photo is supposed to be Melody, and the 'dock' setting in the photo will come into the story soon, so just a heads up- it might be an important scene in the story!***

Melody's POV- 2 weeks later

      I have one week.

One more week until Hunter does his show here, in California.

Unfortuneately for me, he just so happens to be performing right outside Beverly Hills. Of all the places in California, they pick a spot that's no more than twenty minutes away from me.

You have no idea how irritating it is, trying to forget about Hunter. It's like everything reminds me of him, or someone he knows, which makes me think of him. Heck, it's gotten harder to walk into a Starbucks since I've returned home! I never thought I would say that. Ever. On the other hand, it's nice to be home at last. I have my apartment back, I've finally gotten around to unpacking my multiple suitcases, and I can now stroll the streets of Beverly Hills without seeing southerners everywhere I look.

Hunter hasn't contacted me since that day on the airplane, heading back to Beverly Hills. I'm pretty positive if he did, I'd crack and fall harder for him, and I can't allow myself to make that mistake of being in love again. In a way, by not calling or texting me, Hunter's made it easier on me as far as avoiding him goes. But honestly, you don't know how many times my thumb has hovered over his name in my contact list, dying to talk to him. It's a battle with myself, really, and I have no idea which side of me is going to win.

I decide it's time I go and pay Skylar a visit over at Gucci, seeing as I haven't spoken to her since I got home.

Oh, and did I mention I got my precious car back? Lord, I missed my car!

Grabbing my purse, I slide a pair of designer sunglasses over my eyes as I head out of my apartment and down to my car. The bright, California sun blazes in the sky, making it hard to look at certain things, even with sunglasses on. Once I get to my car, I open the driver's door and get inside, cranking the engine. Pulling out of the apartment parking lot, I  make the short drive to the Gucci store that I knew all too well.

~20 minutes later~

A bell dinged above my head as I entered the expensive store. I looked around, searching for Skylar's long, blonde hair. After looking around for a few moments, I saw her.

"Skylar?" I call, getting her attention. She whipped around, hearing her name. Her face lit up when she saw me, as she trotted over to me in her five inch heels. I was only wearing three inch heels today.

"Melody! We've missed you!" she exclaims, hugging me. I hugged her back, and we did the stereotypical 'air kiss' thing that you see in those old hollywood movies. Yes, people actually do that. "I missed you, too! It's so nice to be back home!" I exclaim happily. She grins, before looking over at another saleswoman. "Cheryl," she starts, smirking at her. "be a darling and take over my shift, will you?" she asked the girl, who was apparently named Cheryl. She looked to be no older than eighteen. Cheryl nodded, clearly intimidated by Skylar.

"She's new, just started the job three days ago," Skylar explains, once we were out of earshot. "Oh," I say, as we walk out of the store and down the street to a small cafe'. We always used to stop and chat here, maybe grab a bite to eat as well. After we ordered ourselves a snack, we sat down at one of the tables.
