***Hello! :) So, the previous chapter. You guys seem to be all over the place with how you feel about Jessie and Melody! That's what I aim for ;) Seriously though, I promise you'll have a clearer idea of who you like better in the next few chapters. Just bear with me for the time being!***

Jessie's POV

Hunter and I had gone to coffee, and then he'd taken me to a local carnival. I guess that's why he told me to dress casual! So far, the date has been incredible, if it's even considered a date. I suppose it's a date, right? I mean, he did ask for my number that day in Starbucks, and he did keep his word and take me for coffee and the fair, so I guess you could call it a date! Surprisingly, I'm not as nervous as I thought I would be, considering I'm usually an awkward, clumsy mess on first dates.

It looks like Hunter's having a good time, at least I hope he is. He seems happy, like he's having fun. "Hey, look, a Ferris wheel!" I exclaim, pointing to the giant wheel, which was now lit up with neon lights since it was getting dark. "You wanna go on it?" Hunter asks, looking at me. I adjusted the giant stuffed bear in my arms, smiling. Hunter had won that for me at one of those games they have at carnivals. He spent at least ten dollars trying to win, it cost a dollar for you to try one time. You had to throw a dart at a moving balloon, and if you hit three balloons, you won. He tried to hit it ten times, and finally succeeded, thus winning the bear and giving it to me.

"Yes, please!" I exclaim, grinning up at him. He returns the grin, leading us over to the Ferris wheel. Once we'd gotten there, we had to wait in line for a few minutes so that other people could get off and make room for new people to get on. When we were allowed on, Hunter lead the way, sitting down in the seat. I sat next to him, plopping my giant bear down on the other side of me. The lady working the wheel locked us in, and we started going up. The wheel was slow, a little slower than the average ferris wheel, but I didn't mind. It gave me more time to be with Hunter, anyway. I think I'm starting to like him, I mean he's treated me so well ever since I met him, and Abigail clearly likes him enough. I'm pretty sure if I did eventually date him, she would probably be more happy than I would! The sun was just starting to set on the horizon, making the sky turn pink and orange, casting down a dim light on the ground below. It was gorgeous.

"You're not scared of heights, are you?" Hunter questioned, looking down over the edge of the seat when we were about halfway up to the top. "Not rea-oh. Wow. We're up high." I answer, cutting myself off as I warily peered over the edge of the seat. From the looks of it, we were at least a few stories high. It was a huge Ferris wheel. People down below got smaller and smaller as the we moved up. I scooted closer to Hunter, but froze when the seat tilted back from the movement. I'm pretty sure I looked like a deer in headlights. Hunter lightly chuckled, putting his arm around me.

You have no idea how badly I wanted to jump for joy when he did that. But I didn't, because that would be wierd, and I'm not wierd.

Well, I guess I am a little wierd, because everyone's a little wierd sometimes, but, oh where am I going with this? I should just stop thinking about it, before I start saying some of it out loud.

"Jessie, you're okay, we're not going to fall," he reassured, giving my shoulder a light squeeze. "Don't. Move. The seat moves when you move," I explain, trying to scoot over to him without causing the seat to move too much.

"Aw, but I was hoping we could get a picture at the top of the wheel," he whined playfully, smiling. I laugh, brushing my bangs out of my face. "I suppose we could do that," I answer, looking at how far up we were. Big mistake. "Don't look down, silly!" he exclaimed, tightening his grip on my shoulder when he sensed that I was freaked out. "But it's tempting!" I retort, chuckling. "Find something else to look at, then!" he answered, chuckling. For a moment, I actually thought about taking his advice and looking at him, because I mean, he's pretty attractive. But again, that would be wierd. Very wierd.
