The next day-Melody's POV
Danielle and I were on her bus, still on our way to Dallas. This has probably been the most awkward bus ride ever for me, mainly because I don't really know Danielle that well. The bus driver told us that we have about three more hours to go before we get into Dallas, so hopefully the awkward tension will clear before then.
"So, what's it like touring with Hunter and the guys?" I ask Danielle, hoping to keep a conversation going. She smirked slightly, then turned to face me. "It's been fun, really. I love how incredible the fans are. Alright, my turn," she starts, tucking her legs underneath her so she could fully face me. "What's it like being Hunter's girlfriend? I mean obviously he's sweet and, not to mention, really attractive," she winked.
He's also really mine, too. I thought to myself.
"He's been great, he's always there for me, he's helped me through a lot," I explain. She cocked her head sideways, confused. "Get through what? I mean, clearly you're like, perfect. You don't really have much to 'get through', if you ask me. Your life seems pretty peachy," she sighs, looking down. "Excuse me? You don't even know me, you can't really say that about me," I fire back, annoyed and a bit hurt.
"You're right, I don't know you that well. But that doesn't mean I can't make observations," she answered, smirking.
I honestly expected Danielle to act differently than this. She always seemed so sweet on interviews and what not, but I guess she does that as an act. That, or she just really doesn't like me for some reason.
3 hours later-Melody's POV
"We're here!" Danielle's manager calls from the front of the bus. "Awesome," Danielle says, getting up from her seat on the couch. She practically runs off the bus, and 'trips' on the sidewalk curb, only to land in Hunter's arms as he walked off of his bus. I know she faked it, I saw her pause for about two seconds to glance back at me to see if I was watching, then at Hunter as she 'tripped' into his arms. I walked off the bus, pretending to not notice.
"You okay?" Hunter asks her, helping her regain her balance. "Yeah," she replied, turning around to face me. "Just peachy, Hunt," she gave me a look before disappearing behind her bus to get her luggage. Hunter walked up to me, wrapping his arms around my waist as he kissed the top of my head. "Hey, MelBel," he smiled, looking down at me. "Hey, babe," I grinned, leaning up to kiss his cheek. I rested my head on his chest as he hugged me.
"Guys, come on, no PDA please!" Dan joked, pretending to gag as he walked off of his bus, Shay following behind him. Hunter laughed, letting me go. I grabbed his hand, intertwining our fingers. "Do you need help getting your luggage?" I asked him, looking at him. He shook his head. "Nah, Betsy's getting it for me since she was the first one out of the bus," he explained.
"Alright everyone," Betsy started, walking around Hunter's bus, handing him his suitcase. "I'm assuming you guys have figured out who's rooming with who, and as always, no boys and girls sleeping in the same room," she said, laughing at the last part. She's kind of like the 'mom' to all of us, in a way. I like that. Everyone finished getting their luggage, and we all met at the lobby of the hotel. "You're with Danielle, right?" Hunter asked. "Yep. I'm gonna go unpack, I think she beat me to the room. I'll see you in a bit?" I ask, as the lady at the check in desk handed me a room key. He nodded, kissing my cheek. "Of course," I smiled and headed off to mine and Danielle's room.
This will be interesting.
"Hey, roomie," she said, as I opened the door. She was unpacking her suitcase, sorting through her clothes. "Hey. So how long are we in Dallas?" I ask curiously, setting my suitcase down at the foot of my bed. " 'Bout two days, maybe three. It depends, really," she answered, holding up a flowy, dark blue top to herself in the full length mirror hanging on the door. "Depends on what?" I ask, redoing my ponytail so that it looked a little neater. "You're just a curious one, aren't you? It depends on when the next show is, how badly the guys wanna stay here, all that jazz," she replied, gathering the blue top and some white pants as she went into the bathroom. "I'm gonna change," she said, shutting the door.
Danielle's POV
I pull out my cell phone to text Hunter.
Hey, do you wanna meet Melody and I at that cafe around the corner? Get a coffee or something to kill time?
He answered back in about three minutes.
Sure, meet there in about ten minutes?
I answered him back instantly, smirking to myself.
Sounds good!
I put my phone on the bathroom counter and change into my dark blue, flowy top and my white jeans, with some black converse. This is one of my favorite outfits, and I always get compliments on how good it looks on me. Surely it will win Hunter over, right? I mean, I was flirting with him perfectly fine, then Melody shows up and ruins the whole thing. I guess the only way to win Hunter over is to get rid of Melody, I suppose.
I grab my old clothes and phone, and head out of the bathroom. Tossing the clothes into my suitcase, I glance up at Melody, who was sitting on her bed, laptop on her lap. "Hey, I'm gonna run and grab a coffee. Want anything?" I ask, slinging my purse over my shoulder. She looks up, shaking her head. "No, but thanks anyway," she offered a small grin. I returned it. Oh, she's completely oblivious. I mean, I saw how she reacted when I 'tripped' into Hunter's arms, but she brushed it off after a moment. If I keep it up, she won't be brushing it off much more.
Ten minutes later, I walk into the cafe, where I see Hunter waiting for me. "Hey," I say, smiling at him. He smiled, then looked at my outfit. "Hey! Did-did you change?" he asks, eyebrows furrowed. "Maybe," I say, flipping my hair over my shoulder. "Where's Melody?" he questioned, his expression turning to confusion. Oh Hunter, always thinking about Melody. Soon, his thoughts will be about me.
"Oh, she said she didn't want to come after all," I say, frowning. He looked down, as if he were hurt. "She's probably tired or something, I guess. Looks like it's just us two, then?" he laughed slightly. "Looks like it is," I laugh with him. We order our coffee and decide to walk around downtown and sightsee.
1 hour later-Melody's POV
"You should've known it was gonna be cold out, then!" Hunter laughs, as he and Danielle walk through the hotel lobby doors. Betsy texted everyone saying to meet in the lobby so we could all go to sound check before Hunter's show tonight. Danielle had Hunter's jacket around her shoulders. She saw me, and smiled. Not a very nice one, either, but Hunter didn't notice. "Here," she says, shrugging out of the jacket and handing it to him. He took it and slung it over his shoulder.
He walked over to me and hugged me. "Don't worry, Mel, that didn't mean anything. I promise. I love you, you know that," he whispered, sensing the tension I was giving off. I sighed, nodding as he kissed my cheek. Dan and Shay walked into the lobby, followed by everyone's bands. Danielle sent me a evil grin, as Hunter was talking with Andy about something.
I have a feeling it wasn't my smartest choice to come on this tour.
