Melody's POV

I breathed in the scent of Hunter's colonge as he hugged me. It felt nice to be back in his arms again, now that he was back for a few days. "Thank you for the bear, by the way," I say, pulling back to look up into his eyes. He smiled, absentmindedly stroking the back of my hair. "You're welcome. I figured you could use a cuddle buddy when I'm away on tour," he half whispered, a quiet laugh escaping his lips. "But you're my cuddle buddy," I fake pouted, holding back a grin. He cheekily grinned at me, planting a kiss on the tip of my nose. "I know, the bear just can't cuddle as good as I can," he declared triumphantly.

"So how's the tour been?" I ask, as I untangle myself from his grip. His face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. "It's been incredible, the fans are awesome," he said, talking with his hands. He does that a lot, actually. It's cute. "I've seen some videos on YouTube, Dan and Shay seem pretty good! Danielle, too," I exclaim, leaning back to put my feet in his lap. He rested his hands on my ankles, toying with a charm on my ankle bracelet. I watched as he tensed up at the mention of Danielle's name, but I brushed it off.

"Yeah, they've all been great! The fans love them," he trails off at the end. He's probably just tired, I mean he's been on the road for two months straight! "Are you okay? You seem kinda...distant," I question, concerned. He nodded his head. "I'm fine, just a little exhausted," he gave a small grin to reassure me. I nodded, warily. "Just give me a morning to sleep in and I'll be just fine, Mel. I'm okay," he said, absentmindedly rubbing my feet. "Mkay," I agree, settling back into the couch cushion.

-2 days later-

"So, I've been thinking," Hunter said, as we walked into a local frozen yogurt shop in downtown Nashville. Today is his last day on a break, so we've been spending the whole day together. "What's up?" I asked, as he scanned the menu in front of us. The cashier appeared from a back room somewhere, putting our conversation on hold. "Hey, guys, what can I get for you?" she asked, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder. I could tell she'd bleached it to look like that. She had on way too much makeup, and was smacking her gum obnoxiously. I hadn't seen her for thirty seconds and I already despised her. Hunter took notice, and discreetly reached over and squeezed my hand.

"Um, I'll take a Vanilla-" "Hunter Hayes? Oh my God, I freaking love you! Like, your song Storm Season is so good," she squealed, her manicured nails raking through her bangs. I felt my blood boil, and I tightened my grip on Hunter's hand. He gave me a look to act like I didn't care about what she was saying, because she didn't know we were dating. She sure as heck wasn't going to be the first one to know about us, either. He smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "Oh, well, uh, thanks. It's um, uh, it's actually called Storm Warning, actually," he chuckled nervously, obviously not liking having to correct someone on the name of his song.

She put her hand on her chest, shocked. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I totally meant to say that, I don't know what came over me! Can I take a picture with you?" she asked, already pulling out her phone. "Sure, yeah," Hunter answered, not looking too thrilled. He put on a fake smile as she walked around from the counter. She shoved her phone into my hands. "Here, be a doll and take the picture, would you?" she sneered, wrapping her arms around Hunter's waist as he put one arm awkwardly around her shoulder. "I suppose," I huff, standing a few feet in front of them.

"Thank you so much, Hunter!" she exclaimed, after the picture. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek. I wanted to scream. "Okay, yay, picture's done. Hunter, let's get some fro-yo, yeah?" I asked, getting annoyed with this chick. She glared at me. "Someone's jealous, are we?" she joked. To the blind eye, it looked like an innocent joke, but I could see the coldness in her stare. "No, no one's jealous here," I said through gritted teeth. Hunter gave me a warning look, before gently placing his hand on the small of my back. "I actaully have to get to sound check, so it was nice meeting you," Hunter lied, turning to walk away. She pouted. "By the way," I whispered to her when Hunter was out of earshot. "He wouldn't be interested in you. He's taken," I sneered, before walking away. Yes, I know that was a stupid move on my part, but she deserved it. I don't allow girls like that to crawl all over my boyfriend, especially when I'm standing right there.

"What did you say to her?" Hunter asked, a stern look on her face. I grinned cheekily. "I told her that you wouldn't be interested in her, and that he was taken," He laughed, putting his arm around me. "This is why I love you," he said as he rubbed my shoulder. "What were you gonna say before all that happened?" I asked, as we walked down the sidewalk. He stopped, and turned to face me. "Well, if you're still wanting to tell the band about our relationship, would you want to come on tour with me?" he asked, hope in his eyes. I didn't even have to think about it. "Yes, I'd love too! If it'd be okay with everyone, I don't want to intrude,"

He grabbed my hand, smiling. "No, you're not intruding on anyone! They'll all love you, I promise. You could hang out with Danielle, she could probably use another girl to hang out with anyway," he explained. I nodded. "Well, if you're gonna go with us, you should probably go pack a suitcase or two," he said, as we started walking again. "I know, I am. I'll meet you at the buses in about two hours? We can explain our relationship then?" I ask. "Sounds like a plan," he smiled.

"Looks like we don't really have a secret loooove anymore," he said, singing the part of his song, 'Secret Love'. He's so punny with his songs, it's adorable. "I can't wait for you to meet them. They'll love you as much as I do,"

          "I hope so,"

***I just had to put a Secret Love pun in there. Ya'll should know by now that I'll jump at any chance to insert a pun ;) Hope you enjoyed this chapter!***
