Sam's POV- 1 1/2 months later
The tour is going great, the crowds are incredible! It's so nice to play in front of huge crowds every night, then again, it can be stressful. I can't imagine how Hunter handles it, but he does. I've been texting Melody whenever I can, and thankfully she still doesn't have a clue about Hunter or any of that. It's hard though, keeping it a secret. Thankfully, she's only gotten suspicious about the tour once, but I had a good excuse for it. Hunter and the other guys have pretty much given up on finding out who Melody is. They stopped asking about it a few weeks ago, after I had gotten fed up with their constant asking about her. I had said something like 'Just let me handle my relationships on my own for once!' or something. They finally got the hint and dropped the subject.
Right now, we're all piled on the bus heading to the airport in Nashville. We finally get another break, since our last one was when I met Melody for the first time. I wonder if she's excited about seeing me again, I mean, she knows we have another break now. If she even is happy to see me, I don't know how I'm going to hide my little 'secret' from her for much longer. I'll have to be careful, very careful. If she sees Hunter hanging around me, she'll dump me right then and there, and I can't let that happen. Even though her attitude is as bitter as a lemon, for some reason, I'm actually starting to miss her.
Matt and Devo walk over to where I'm sitting, and sit next to me. "Hey, how much longer till we get to the airport?" Matt asks curiously, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "I think we have another hour and a half to go." I answer. "Finally! I'm starving." he replies over dramatically. I roll my eyes. "You're always starving, Matt." I say jokingly. Devo nods his head, agreeing. "Is that a problem?" he asks, getting up from the couch to sit on the floor. I swear, he can be so strange. "You're a different one, Matt." Devo says, laughing.
Suddenly, I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. Pulling it out, I look to see who texted me. It was a message from Melody. Unlocking my phone, I read the message.
Hey, you and your band are heading up to the airport today right?
Sighing, I answer her back. This was the one question I had hoped to avoid. Typing my answer, I send my reply.
Yes, we'll be there in about an hour and a half.
I run a hand through my short hair, trying to figure out how I was going to keep her from finding out about everything, and I only have a little over an hour to do so. Getting up, I disappear back into the music room to think. Thankfully no one was in there.
1 hour later
I had came out of the music room a few minutes ago, still unsure of what to do. If I could, I would stay in the music room forever, but I know the guys will get suspicious, considering I never even touched an instrument while I was in there. Totally defeats the purpose of the room, I know. Hunter walks into the room, plopping down next to Matt on the couch. I was sitting across from them in a chair. Steve, Devo, and Andy were in the kitchen eating whatever was in sight.
"I can't wait to get home for a few weeks!" Hunter exclaims happily. "I know, me too." Matt replies. They both look at me. "What about you, Sam?" Matt asks me curiously. I snap out of my thoughts. "Huh?" I ask. "About going home? Aren't you glad to go home for a few weeks?" Hunter asked. "Oh! Yeah, I guess." I answer, not as enthusiastically as I normally would have. Yes, I'm happy to be back in Nashville, but that also means dealing with Melody, and I don't know if I can hide my secret much longer.
