***Hello, my beautiful readers! :) How are you guys enjoying this story so far? Any helpful writing tips you could offer? Looking back on some chapters of TGOY, it looks like a third grader wrote it, and I don't really know how to make it sound better, more sophisticated and realistic. Hope you enjoy this chapter!***
Hunter's POV- 1 week later
Neither the guys or myself have heard from Melody since that night the power went out at my house. I have no idea if she and Sam are still together or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if things were tense between them right now. Thankfully, Sam never found out about what happened with Melody when she injured her hand on that piece of glass. I'm pretty sure if he did, either Melody would blame it on me, or Sam would make it out like I had been flirting with her, and that was certainly not my intention. Even though I would be much happier if she were gone for good, she had gotten hurt and me being the person that I am, I couldn't not help her. It's just in my nature, my Mama raised me right.
The band and I leave to go back on tour next week, and I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do with this whole 'Melody' situation. Will she and Sam stay together? Will Melody try to change her outlook on things? I doubt she will, she seems too stubborn. Glancing at the clock on the wall in my bedroom, I see that it's nearly ten o' clock at night. I walk into my bathroom and take a quick shower, before changing into an old tee shirt and sweatpants. Yawning, I plop into my bed, curling up with a blanket. Moments later, I've drifted off to sleep.
The next day- Hunter's POV
I awake to the sound of birds chirpping outside my window, sunlight peeking through the curtains. Grabbing my phone, I check the time. It's almost noon. I must've been tired! Yawning, I sit up, stretching. Just as I was about to get out of bed, I hear knock at my front door. Since it was so quiet in the house, the knock echoed throughout everywhere, slightly scaring me, therefore causing me to literally fall out of bed.
Okay, okay. It was more than a 'slight' scare. You caught me.
Groaning, I quickly head to the bathroom and change into some clean clothes, before brushing my teeth. "Coming!" I call downstairs, sliding my phone into my back pocket of my jeans. Jogging down the stairs, I come to a stop at the front door. I open the door, I see a rather gloomy looking Sam standing before me.
"Sam?" I ask, looking at him. He brings his gaze to meet mine. "Hey, Hunter." he answers quietly. "What's up?" I ask curiously. His head hung, like he was sad. "Well, last night I was talking with Melody. She had snapped at someone, and I'd had enough of her attitude. I'd tried to help her, I really did, but every time I corrected her she just waved me off like it was a joke. We got into a fight, and she broke up with me." he explained.
"Sam, I'm sorry." I say sincerley. I actually had a feeling something like this would happen. Melody wouldn't get her way, she'd take it out on someone else, and Sam just happened to be that someone. He shook his head, disagreeing. "No, I'm the one who should be apologizing. I never believed you when you said she had been lying the whole time. So, I'm sorry for not trusting you. I let a girl get in the way of our friendship." he says, sounding disappointed in himself. I went up to him and hugged him, feeling extremely angry at Melody for what she'd done to him.
"Don't be sorry, man. Things happen, but she's gone now, so neither of us have to deal with her anymore." I tell him, letting him go. He looks at me, nodding his head. "So, are we good?" he asks hopefully. I nod, patting him on the back. "We're good." I answer happily.
I invite him into the house, and we talk for a good hour or so, before he has to leave. "See you next week, man!" he exclaims, heading out the door. "Sounds good!" I reply, waving as he walked down the driveway and to his car. I shut the door behind him, relieved to have my best friend back.
