Thirty Four

I'm so sorry for not updating for ages. I came back to finish this story. It would be a good one and not a rushed and a crappy ending.

Right from the beginning I knew that Damon had a thing for my cousin but I've not expected him to confess it to anyone. Damon confessing to me, his ex-girlfriend and his ex or current best friend was a shocking thing.

I didn't gasp or express my shock in anyway but I couldn't control my eyes from getting wider. But I managed it with a nod and told him that I knew it already. After that he left to God-knows-where and I lost my wonderful birthday sleep. I even couldn't think of Klaus and in what way we were connected.

"Happy birthday!" Alice screeched on the other end of the phone and I had woken up only a few minutes earlier prior to the call.

"Thanks Alice."

Then everyone took their turns in wishing me. I missed them and Forks. Emmet spoke longer than the others before handing the phone back to Alice.

"So, how is everything going on there?" Alice asked, probably moving away from the rest of the Cullens.

"Everything's fine" I started, "Well that's what any normal person would say to avoid further interrogation."

"Okay, then talk like abnormal person." Alice chuckled.

I got out of bed and checked Stefan's room and living room to find Damon or Stefan unavailable. Stefan wasn't here from last night or I didn't see him. I didn't want anyone to overhear to what I'm gonna tell to Alice.

"Just a minute, Alice." With that I called out for Damon and Stefan but neither of them answered or showed up. And as I got to the living room, there was breakfast served for me with a message on a paper in a horrible handwriting.

'I've some work to be done. I won't be here when you wake up but I'll be back ASAP. So, don't leave the house on your own.' - Damon

Pft. Fine, I gotta finish up my ranting before he comes back.

"Alice..." I told her everything, from Bella staying in my place, my word to Bella about patching her and Edward up and how she got attacked when she came to defend me. I also added about Klaus and Rebekah.

"What the hell? You and your cousin are trouble magnets, Trix." Alice tried her level best to sound normal but I knew that she was worried as hell.

"I know." I shrugged and grabbed my breakfast which was bread toast and omlette.

"I'll call you later, Trix." Alice hung up as Jasper was calling out for her. Pft. If only I had one like Jasper who would never leave my side and love me unconditionally.

Damn! I'm getting weak and emotional.

Holy shit! I totally forgot about Bella. I have to visit her and see if she's really okay. But I gotta go home before leaving to hospital. I don't think I would be able to answer Jenna's questions regarding my stay here. 

Elena's stuffs may be found in Stefan's room. I marched  victoriously to Stefan's room and opened the door which was thankfully not locked.

"Trix it's me." Stefan appeared in front of me while I was in the middle of screaming bloody murder. As I stepped into the room a figure emerged from the side of the door. How would any soft hearted person react? That's what I did. Screamed in horror.

"I thought no one was here." I said holding on to the door tightly.

"I got back when Damon left in the morning and stayed in my room since you were sleeping." He slowly removed my hand from the door and gave a soft squeeze.

Awe, now the rapid beating of heart had slowed down and was back to normal. He surely knows how to comfort everyone. Elena was such a fool to choose Jacob over him. Poor thing, it's because of the mate thingy.

"Happy Birthday." He hugged me and kissed on my head.

Aweeeee. He's such a sweet pie.

"Thanks, Stefan." I grinned widely after pulling back.

I told Stefan the previous evening's incident where I met Klaus and how Damon had asked me to spend the night here. I cleverly omitted that Damon confessing his feelings for my cousin.

"Trixie, you don't have to try so hard to hide Damon's love for your cousin." Stefan blurted and my eyes were wid3 opened. What the hell? How did he know?

"I actually stopped by last night to take some stuffs and that's when I heard Damon talking to you." He replied for my thoughts.

I just stood there feeling so bad for him and defeated because he had heard it with his own ears. Jacob was some random guy but Damon was his own freaking brother. It would be very hard to digest this.

I simply hugged him to make his heavy heart feel less heavy and also to erase my traces of feelings for Damon.
