A full day had passed and Isabelle was getting ready for school, she was unsuccessful in trying to find out who exactly the masked web shooter was, but it still didn't stop her from continuing forward. Courtesy of Tony, he had bought her an apartment closer to Midtown and more inner, Queens. It was different than her room at the Avengers headquarters but nonetheless felt roomier than that place ever did given the sheer size of it.
With a phone pressed up to her ear with her shoulder as she struggled to pull her jeans up her leg, "what do you suggest I do, I mean all these teachers are boring I don't think they'd be leading a double life." She struggled, but finally got the jeans up and managed to shovel down a piece of toast while waiting for Tony to answer, "Follow them, any suspicious activity and follow them or you could go up to them and touch them to see if that does anything-."
"Tony that's weird as shit, why would I do that? cmon man." She slipped on her shoes and threw her backpack over her shoulder, he chuckled over the other end of the phone as she walked toward the door, "You would do that because judging by your first day at school you don't like it very much there and you want to get the hell out of dodge as soon as possible." She groaned and opened the door, "all right, when you're right, you're right but don't be an asshole about it."
Sighing loudly she walked through the door, closing it behind her and locking it. "Do you expect any less of me if I'm an asshole about it?" She rolled her eyes at him, he most likely could tell that's exactly what she did. "I guess so-" spinning on her feet she locked eyes with one of the neighbours who smiled at her sweetly, "-look I gotta go, I'll be late and I have PE first. Bye, Dad."
Hanging up the phone she offered the neighbour a smile in return, which she took as an invitation to walk over to her. "You must be our new neighbour, right?" Her voice matched her smile, sweet. She had kind eyes, hard to break away from. Isabelle shifted on her feet and nodded, not wanting to be rude of course. "Well, welcome to Queens! I'm May." She offered her hand to shake, taking it generously Isabelle nodded again a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"I'm Isabelle, it's a pleasure to meet you. Sorry - but I..uh - I gotta get to school, I'm new and I don't want to piss any of the teachers off on my second day." She chuckled nervously. May's eyes widened at her, the kind smile still present on her face, "Oh of course! Thank you for reminding me actually-" she brought a fist to her door and pummelled on the door, "-Pete! Hurry up!"
Isabelle chuckled and started making her way towards the stairs waving at May, "It was lovely meeting you, May." She descended down the steps as the door opened and a flustered Peter steps out of the apartment, "who were you..uh..talking to?" He had heard a conversation bouncing between someone and May but he didn't want to eavesdrop, as much as he wanted too, being curious at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. "Oh the new neighbour's daughter, she's lovely...and... she's definitely your type." May poked his side making him swat away her hand in embarrassment.
"Every girl you see, you say that... I'm gonna be late, I'll see you tonight - Bye, Aunt May." The words came out of him like bullets he talked so fast as he rushed down the stairs to prevent further humiliation from his Aunt. He loved her, he really did but she was being her typical self. Checking his watch he muttered to himself about missing the train that got him to school which would definitely make him late. His PE teacher disliked him and Ned enough, but now that he was going to be late Mr Wilson was sure to hate him more.
Peter bounded through the streets trying his best not to knock over anyone, and if it weren't for his spider senses he would've run straight past Isabelle, but he noticed her well and truly before passing her. He slowed his steps enough to catch his breath before walking up to her at a slow 'casual' pace, maybe she lived around here? He wasn't sure, but it definitely peaked his interest a lot more.
She turned instinctively, Tony always drilled into her about watching her back all the time that often she would do it. Her eyes locked with Peters and she offered him a kind smile, similar to the one she did with May. And, Just like May did, he took this an invitation to move his already flustered ass over to her. "Hey u-uh, it's um - Isabelle, r-right?" He swiftly strode alongside her, he was a blubbering mess, but that was only because he that's just who he is. She recognised him from school yesterday but hadn't caught a name.
"Yeah, Can't say I know who you are though." She avoided his gaze, chuckling nervously at the fact she was talking to someone new, and that certain someone was undeniably attractive for her. Peter looked at her, without answering before a blush crept up on his cheeks, "Oh! oh... I'm -- I'm uh...I'm Peter?" He too chuckled nervously, he mentally cursed himself for being like this, not just around girls but around everyone new he met.
She laughed and pushed her glasses back up the bridge of her nose. Peter pointed at her shirt, which immediately peaked his interest, "Oh you uh - you like Star Wars?" He hoped it wasn't just one of those shirts from urban outfitters that was cool because it was 'retro', she looked down at her shirt forgetting entirely that she was wearing it. Peter put his hand out in defence, even more flustered, "N-not that -- that I was looking...down...there... I just u-uh noticed it..."
"Oh. Well, I mean... they're only the best movies of all time. My uh... Dad makes fun of me for liking it but with all this crazy Avenger stuff going on and superhero's now it doesn't seem so far fetched that there's Jedi out there." She attempted to spark up a conversation of Queens' new hero, given that Peter obviously had lived here for quite some time. He looked at her momentarily, they had made it to the station but they'd have to wait for the next train.
He didn't care that he was going to be late, and quite frankly neither did Isabelle. Seeing she was a fellow nerd who enjoyed Star Wars as much as he and Ned did, it suddenly was less daunting trying to talk to her, but nonetheless, he was still a stammering mess. "Oh yeah, the-the Avengers are pretty...Cool.. huh?" He grinned lopsidedly at her. She nodded agreeing with him, she fiddled around with the straps of her backpack before continuing with what she wanted to say, "it's pretty cool you got your own hero here in Queens though..."
Peter's head snapped up at the mention of that, a grin ghosted his lips but he quickly got rid of it and nodded. He tried to act 'cool' but Peter Parker wasn't at all the definition of 'cool'. "Y-yeah he's a cool guy - I mean... not that I know him personally... uh, he just comes across as a -- as a cool guy..y'know... with webs...and...stopping uh -- uh...cars." He scratched the back of his neck, he realised he was digging himself a hole at this point.
Isabelle smiled, a small laugh leaving her lips. She enjoyed the company of babbling, nervous Peter Parker although she figured he must have known something, she couldn't tell if that was him being nervous or if he actually knew any information on the Masked Hero.
