Chasing Wattpad

I'm too sexy for my readers

I rarely respond to comments on my stories. I do feel bad about this. I'm not going to go jump off a bridge or anything because of it, but it does irk me a bit that I don't take the time to do it or have made any serious efforts to change this about me. Especially since so many people here on Wattpad are so giving of their time when it comes to sharing their opinion of your works or even just engaging you and others in the issues you have raised. There are many people like that on Wattpad and I am grateful for them. 

I was thinking this right now and I just realized that I don't even read all the comments. I could go a couple of days without looking at my WP app so I will miss a few. Sometimes while answering others I will scroll up and see many that I have missed. That bugs me. Sometimes. A little bit. 

I have a quite a few readers that make it a point to leave long and engaging comments on my stories. These readers are not the kind that run around looking for something wrong in my writing to point out my mistakes or simply looking to pick a fight about something. These are people who seem sincerely interested about what I am saying. I think that is rare thing for many people here on Wattpad. We shouldn't take it for granted.

It gets worse for me. These same people are the kind that are quick to respond to the slightest remark I make on their work. If I just "like" a chapter without saying a thing I get at least a written response thanking me for the like. Boy don't I look like a jerk! Kidding I don't. I mean I can be, but I'm not. Well maybe I am. Nope. Okay, maybe a little. Yeah. No. I don't know. It's a mystery. 

I guess I could say I just don't have the time to respond to every little thing, but we all know that's not true. If I have time for Netflix, reading, writing, then I have time to talk to readers, writers, but, even though I have tried, no one at Netflix will return my calls. If you have time for stupid Facebook you have time to thank people for noticing your writing. If I have time for the Mother of Dragons (tonight!) then I have time to respond to those that take the time out of their day to respond to my writing. 

Same thing with followers. There are some of you who thank every single person who follows you just for following you. I have about 4k followers right now and I think I have thanked 10 or 15. Maybe less. Probably less.  You should thank your followers. You get a notification when they follow you after all. You know the moment they do it. What does it cost you to go say thanks? They don't have to follow you. You're lucky they did. Remember when you were crying because nobody was following you? Yeah, that's what I thought. 

Well to the few that are reading this right now I thank you for your time. I will make it a point to try harder to respond to your comments from now on. But probably not on any comments to this post. Not today at least. I think you'll understand.  The Mother of Dragons is on in about an hour. She's hot. I mean literally hot. On fire hot.  Which is lucky for her because after 6 freaking seasons winter is finally here. Finally. 

I kind of think her and Jon Snow would make a cute couple, you know, if they don't kill each other first.  Laters  Wattpadders. Go respond to your readers. Yeah, you're sexy, but not too sexy to take this trip alone. Go tell your readers how awesome they are. They're sexy too!

And go read some of these awesome writers. Tell them I sent you. They won't know who the hell I am, but tell them I sent you anyway. I'll get a kick out of it.
