Getting added to any list is a good thing. At the very least it means that someone somewhere in this increasingly expanding Wattpadian universe noticed your book. For most people here on Wattpad, and especially those just starting out, it can even be considered a miracle. But if you stick around long enough it will happen. For better or for worse people will notice your book and find something interesting about it. Not interesting enough to stop right at that moment and read your book, but interesting enough at least to pick it up and shelve it away on one of their electronic shelves.

Does it matter what shelf? Well of course it does. People all over Wattpad create shelves to put books that they might (but probably will not) read later.  What shelf your book goes on can give you the very first hint what readers really think about your book before even opening it up.

This is the third batch of lists my books have been stashed away in.

Good Lists

My book "Chasing Wattpad" has been put on a list called "Whut Whuuut". Okay, I know that's iffy but I am putting this on the good list. Whut whuuut? Whut whuuut?  Damn I could say that in my head all day long. Just in my head though. It would sound stupid if I said it out loud. I'm going with a good on this one.

My book "Chasing Wattpad" was also on a list called "Bathroom Reading" (again).  Now you might think that this is a bad list to be on, but it isn't. I myself have read some good books in the bathroom. The bathroom has the best lighting of any room in the house and no one bothers you there. Admit it you read good stuff there too. Nobody reads crappy books there. That would be redundant lol.

My book "The Body" was placed on a list called "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus". Is your book on that list? Yeah, I didn't think so. Whut whuuut...Sorry couldn't help it.

My book "People of Starbucks" was added to the list "Better than Holmes". I am assuming they are talking about Sherlock and not John, but I will take either one as a compliment. Kids, do not Google that. Just don't. Whut whuuut? Sorry, again.

My book "Chasing Words" (yeah, admit it you've never heard of that one, loser) was placed on a list called  "Romance". No dear, "Words" is not the name of a girl or a guy. I'm talking about real words. Like this one. And that one. This one too. You get it now? lol. But thanks anyway.

Not so good  or confused lists

My book "Convict Chronicles" was put under a list titled "Prison Escape Stories". Yeah, no. I guess they just looked at the cover (which is a pair of hands holding on to prison bars) and nothing else. The book is about my career in law enforcement and people I have met along the way. No one ever escaped. Except that one guy. But he had a gun and military grade tear gas. But he was caught 3 years later and my asthma was cured forever so it all turned out okay.

My story "Things I Wish I Could Forget" was placed on a list called "Dementia". What?

My story "Absence of Me" was also placed on a list called "Dementia". Okay that makes sense. Lol.

My story "The Hippie and the Whale" was placed on the list "Hemingway". Lol. I'm pretty sure he wrote "The Old Man and the Sea". But hey, I was put on a Hemingway list. Were you ever put on a Hemingway list? Whut whuuut?

And finally, my book Chasing Wattpad was put on a list titled "Confused people". I checked that list and I was the only one on it. Whut whuuut? I love my fans.

Have a great writing day writers. Readers, well, you're here with me so you're okay.  Now go read some of those books your put on your shelves that you have been ignoring for a while. Even electronic shelves can get dusty. Okay, no not really but you know what I mean.
