The following are lists my books have been added to in the past couple of months. I'll start with the good ones. I am really getting a kick out of these lists. Every day I find several good one. Which kind of make me feel bad because I have no good lists. If I add you to mine it's just going to show you that you were added to "TheAlvarezChronicles" reading list. How boring is that. I'll work on it.
#1 My story Collateral Beauty -A letter to death was put in a list titled "I love you". Awwww...you love me. Stop it. I got a woman. She will beat you up. And then she will beat me up.
#2. My story Collateral Beauty -A letter to death was put on a list titled "Mac-n-Cheese". Okay now bear (is it bear or bare? I don't want to look it up) with me here. I think this is a good list. It means my story is full of cheesy goodness. Yes? Who doesn't love cheesy goodness? I'm making some right now! (not a story with cheesy goodness but actual mac-n-cheese with cheesy goodness, and maybe some tuna).
#3 My story The Body was put on lists "Books to Die For" ,"See you soon" , "Love, love, love", "Amazing books that will blow your mind away", "The Ones I'll Read Once in a Forever", "Read Later (Read now dammit)", "Need to be read & reread & reread", "Random Crap that I enjoy", "Best in Mystery/Thriller", "Books everyone on the planet needs to read" and so on and so on. Thanks. I do love this story and soon there will be a few more true crime stories like this one. I love you guys for adding it to all these lists. But here is the thing and it happens to many writers. I have other books! I see other writers with many stories and only one gets the reads. If you like a writer check out his other stories. Chances are you'll like those. You're killing me here, yeah, with love, but you're still killing me! lol
#4 My story Things I learned as a Cop was put on a list titled "Superb! Jubilant!". Superb? Yeah, I can't argue with that. Jubilant? Hmmm...maybe. I'm tempted to quote the Princess Bride here and say "I don't think that word means what you think it means". But no, I'll take it.
#5 My series People of Starbucks was put on a list titled "On My Bedside Table". Cool. I like this one. I keep only the best stuff on my bedside table.
#6 Someone started a list called "TheAlvarezChronicles-Awesome and true stories". Do you have your own list? Don't bother I checked. You don't. Just let it go. Step away from the phone. Just back away slowly.
Here are a few that are either bad or I just have no idea what to think of them.
#6 My story The Body (which was a murder case I worked) was put in a list of books titled "MJ fanfic". Huh? What? MJ? Michael Jackson? Michael Jordan? I don't get this one. And just for the record neither Michael Jackson nor Michael Jordan were ever a suspect in this case.
#7 My story Chasing Wattpad was put in a list titled "Books listing best romance books". I knew this was would happen some day. Since every romance book on Wattpad begins with the word "Chasing" this person automatically assumed that this book is about romance books. Actually makes sense now that I think about. Chasing Wattpad- A guide to Romance Novels on Wattpad. Not a bad idea. Not bad at all.
#8 The Body was put on a list called "Jayda". I don't know what language that is. Somebody look it up for me. Oh, while you are at it look up "Sun Raha Hai Na Tu". Chasing Wattpad was put on that one. Let me know. Oh and if it's bad just lie to me and tell me the opposite. I appreciate that.
#9 Collateral Beauty- A letter to death was put on a list "cute short stories". Seriously? There are some profound life altering thoughts in there! Go read it! What's wrong with you! Cute my ass (that is true)! Read the thing!
#10 My book The Case of the Missing Lol...A Blog...Maybe was put on a list titled "Books that make me horny". Forget what I said in #1. PM me.
Well that's enough for now. I have so many more saved on my phone. I screenshot them when I get them. Anyway, here's hoping all your stories end up on lists worthy of them. You guys are the best.
