"lies" She muttered, She looked up at him, her eyes burning with a new passion. "All fucking lies, for crying out Neil i don't need to hear your petty lies, if your trying to reduce the hurt than its fine, pain seems to be my best friend. Its totally fine." She laughed bitterly. "Avni, i'm telling the truth, this wasn't supposed to happen, what ever happened with Rhea was a mistake, just a mistake." "Oh please....Don't, your family insulted me, they called me a whore for crying out loud, they asked me to justify the relationship i share with Ali, i agree that they didn't know anything about my past around then but that does not give them any authority to question a woman's purity." She turned to walk out of her office, while Neil stood there dumbfound. As she turned to leave something striked within him as he ran out after her grabbing her forearm and smashing her into the wall behind them. He looked at her intently "Avni, i...i..I know your upset and angry at me but please believe me, i didn't want to hurt you like this." "You didn't want to hurt me, you did not just fucking say that...you did not just say that, why should i believe you?...You know when all this was going on and you walked away, my heart dropped but i had hope, i knew that my Neil, my saviour will come and at least help me against your own family...but no instead you left me alone. You knew that this is exactly what happened between my parents, you knew that i was scared of relationships, you knew i was broken yet....WHY?....HOW? The characters may have changed but it is still the same story line." She wiped at her tears, and turned away from him "The only reason i'm allowing you to work with me is for Papa ji, i have that much respect for him, after all he was the only one who was willing to listen to me, he changed my outlook on fathers, he became my dad and still is today, if i had my way...i swear to god." She left.

Out of nowhere Ashok came and put his hand on his shoulder causing Neil to turn. "I'm not going to tell you that you have hurt her because i think that you know that already but Avni she's stubborn, she's upset try and pacify her, try talking to her, she needs someone like you in her life she needs that, i know that what happened wasn't supposed to happen and that Rhea spiked your drink and used you,but Avni...she doesn't try talking whilst your working, i have backed away from this case slightly for a reason...for you. This is your chance of redemption. Don't blow it Neil. I can't see my sister in that pain again." Neil looked at him and hugged him. Ashok reciprocated and said "You got this man but remember one thing, its not just Avni you have to convince but Aman, Ali and DD to. I'm a phone call away." He pat his back before walking away.

Neil called up a few favours and instantly smirked thinking 'Avni Ayesha, your Neil is coming. Be prepared for a deewana lover' 

*Two hours later*

Avni reached her home to smell her mothers curry, and the sensational smell of other foods. Her eyes widened as she walked into the kitchen, she was left shocked seeing the amount of food. "Maa, what are you doing? cooking for an army? And when did you get back? You could have called na..." "Aree Avni, i know that part of your job is to interrogate but please save me from it." Avni smiled and hugged Neela from behind. "Bacha hug me later, go get ready we have guest coming over." Avni sent a questioning look at Neela "Avni please shut down your lawyer mind and go get ready, you best dress up nicely or i'll come up myself and pull your hair in all different directions." She ran up the stairs dumping her notes across her bed.  She stalked over to her cupbaord, no way in hell was she going to wear a sari, they were uncomfortable as hell, she decided to go with a pink coloured arankali with a blue boarder and blue dupatta. She decided to keep the look simple by paring it with a pair of earrings and keeping minimal make up. She highlighted her lips with pink lipstick giving her that innocent look. She left her hair in natural curls.

Just then Aman and Ali walked in followed by Ashok with his little daughter Aarti, as Ali wolf whistled Aman came and twirled her around. Ashok smiled warmly at her as Aarti stretched towards Avni, Avni was one of the only people who could keep her occupied and always welcomed her presence. She smiled at there antics before quickly saying "You three hurry up and get ready will ya, i'm going to help Ma and Nano." They nodded as she headed towards the kitchen. Avni began to help with making a few extra dishes as Neela asked her to make poha, carefully remembering her mothers step to step guided she made it along side Kheer. Just as Nano and Neela were finishing off the doorbell rang. Neela smiled slightly which wasn't unnoticed by Avni she was suspicious. Her mother was definitely planning something, Neela rushed Avni and told her to open the door she walked to the door still facing Neela and talking to her mother "Ma what in the world are you up to..." She turned the handle opening the door, still not facing the 'guests' she spoke to her mother "Ma i swear to god don't do anything...." A light cough stopped her from going on, she turned around to see Neil surrounded by his family and Rhea, she turned and looked at Neela "Ma..." Just then the boys, with DD and Aarti came downstairs and all but Ashok and Aarti who was gurgling, growled seeing the family who dishonoured their sister. Ashok smiled warmly at Neil who returned it. Avni stood there dumbfound her mouth slightly ajar, Ashok came down and smiled "Avu close your mouth, flies will go in." She looked at him just blinking, she closed her eyes for a split second, before leaving the door handle and walking off. Neela called after her desperately as the two women entered the kitchen followed by Nano. The boys were welcoming the 'guests'-well Ashok was whilst Aman, Ali and DD looked at them in disgust. "Avni bacha i have noticed something is wrong, what are you not telling us." Avni looked away but Nano pulled her chin, "Moi Bachi, tell me." Tears began to drop as she narrated what happened Neela and Nano stood shocked. How could Neil do this to their child knowing what she had seen. "Avni, are you sure...i'm sure this is just a misunderstanding." Avni took out her phone and showed them the pictures and video that was taken. "Ma...Please don't say anything please."Neela wanted to but Nano agreed with Avni. They all came back with refreshments. "Avni you serve, i need to talk to Nano for a sec." Avni nodded and began to serve them. As she got to Neil, she could feel the intensity of his stare, she looked at him and split the hot tea on him "OUCH." That brought them all into reality as Neela and Nano came rushing in to see Neil's shirt covered in tea, Neela rubbed her temples as Aman smirked slightly looking at Ali. "Avni give him a spare shirt. Go." Neela and Avni looked at each other, something had happened, Neil picked up on that.  Avni gestured him to come. They walked in silence. They walked into her room and she opened her cupboard and gave him a shirt. "Isn't this my shirt." She nodded and was about to walk out. He grabbed her wrist pulling her towards him She broke his grip "Don't fucking touch me." She walked out slamming the door behind her he jumped at the sound and looked at the shirt. He closed his eyes "Neil you look best in this shirt." Screamed Avni. "This is totally you. We are buying it. And you'll only wear this for me understood Mr super cop." He saluted her and as they both broke out in laughter they hugged. He opened his eyes, he thought he lost this shirt when in reality she had taken it with her. Avni stood outside the door and to remembered the meaning of the shirt she had given him. Her eyes were closed as a tear fell from her eyes the door opened and Neil stood before her. For the first time tonight she looked at him properly. He was wearing a tight fit blue suit with the shirt she just gave him, they complemented each other well, his hair was the usual balloon like as she would call it.

"Avni i know you were also thinking back to the day we were shopping and brought this shirt..." She shoved his chest "It means nothing to me." She walked away, her hips swinging and foot steps pounding against the floor viciously. He had made her like this. It was his fault. He sighed before punching the wall, causing his knuckles to bleed.
