Lexi's POV

"Rise and shine girls." A voice loudly said in the room. I opened my eyes to see Aaron standing in our room. He saw that I was awake. I only saw Matthew once and it was pretty dark so I hadn't gotten to see what he looked like. He was pretty attractive. He saw that I was looking at him and winked.

"Sam." He said louder. She didn't move.

"You can't make me do anything." She said. Matthew shrugged.

"Lexi. Come with me." He ordered, looking at me. I felt I shouldn't get on anyone's bad side, so I obeyed. I got up and quickly shoved my phone under the pillow so if any of the guys walked in they wouldn't see it just on the bed.. I walked over to Matthew. We started to leave the room when I turned around to look at Sam.

"Go." She whispered across the room. I sighed and turned back around, walking behind Matthew.

"What are you going to do to me now?" I muttered.

"What?" He turned around.

"Nothing." I said. "How come you and everyone else are just letting me walk freely around?" I asked, as we walked downstairs.

"Because we aren't concerned that you'll try to kill any of us. You're actually pretty desirable." When he said that, I felt my cheeks go red.

"Most of the guys really like you. You pretty much have them under your wing." He said, as we walked past the kitchen and towards another set of stairs I hadn't noticed last night. Before we descended, Matthew stopped and turned to face the kitchen where six of the twenty one guys were.

"Gilinsky. Get Sam please." He said to a tan, brown-haired boy, who walked down the hall when Matt said that. We continued to go down the stairs, to I don't know where. It was cold and dark down there, but looked just like a large, unfished basement of a house in the suburbs.

"Do you wanna do this the easy way or the hard way?" He pointed to two different doors. I heard talking in the room on the right. I didn't know what Matthew was gonna do to me, but I thought if other people were watching he couldn't do anything too bad.

"That way." I pointed to the door on the right.

"Alright, hard way it is." He smiled, opening the door and going in ahead of me. Shit.

"Ooh, good girl picked the hard way." Ethan smirked, standing up. Kian and Jc and Cameron were sitting around a table.

"She probably just wants to see Kian." Cameron said.

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes, and looked away.

"Sit." Ethan said.

"Make me." I said blatantly. He put his hand around my waist, pushing me to the chair.

"Ethan, don't touch her dude." Jc said. I looked at Jc. I mouthed a 'thank you' to him quickly. Kian clenched his jaw, looking at Ethan. Matthew sat down at the last empty seat that was at the table.

"We need to talk to you about a few things." Cameron said seriously.

"Alright." I said, waiting for him to continue.

"Sammy, as you know, is very resistant to being here." Cameron said.

"No, I actually never noticed." I said sarcastically. Matt was trying not to smile.

"We know that you guys are going to try to escape and-" Cameron continued before I cut him off.

"Sam is the one who wants to get out of here. You guys treat her like an animal." I explained. "Not to mention, she's kind of annoyed that you guys like me and aren't treating me like you are her."

"-we don't treat you like her because we aren't worried about you! We know your weaknesses and we know your strengths. We didn't just find out yesterday who you are." Cameron said.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked, getting more and more annoyed by the minute.

"You guys don't read the fine print!" Kian yelled. We all were silent. I stood up. Ethan grabbed my wrist tightly, pulling me back down.

"We're not letting you leave; Sam can try to escape, and we know you wanna stay. She's too scared to do anything without you. We will let you go with one condition- you must fall in love and marry someone here. The fine print of the rules of the month state that 'if an upper class person falls in love with their subject, then they will then not be allowed to harm them and will be lowered to the lowest class and will be a victim the next time'." Cameron finished.

"I'm not falling in love just to get out of here and die in a few years!" I said, getting up and walking to the door. I opened the door to see Sam being escorted by Jack to the room I had just been in a few seconds ago. I walked around them and ran up the stairs.

"What did you do to her?!" I heard Sammy yell. I heard lots of talking.

"Why don't you ask her yourself??" Kian yelled. I felt a lump in my throat.

"Hey Lexi." Hayes said as I ran past him up the second flight of stairs. I ignored him, continuing my way up to the room. I went into Sam and I's room and slammed the door. If there were a lock I would've locked it. I sat down on my bed and pulled out my phone. I felt tears slipping down my cheeks. I laid down on my bed. About 10 minutes later, I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and I immediately sat up. I quickly put my phone under the pillow and wiped my tears.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Who is it?" I asked, expecting it to be Sam.

"It's Hayes..." I heard from behind the wood. I was surprised.

"Come in." I said. The door opened, revealing Hayes. He walked over and sat down next to me.

"You okay?" He whispered. I shook my head. I felt a tear slide down my cheek and a pair of strong arms wrap around my neck. I buried my head in the crook of his neck, wrapping my arms around his torso.

"How about now?" He asked, smiling a little as he let go of me. I laughed a bit.

"Better." I smiled. We looked toward the door when we heard the floorboards creak. Kian.

"Hayes what the hell?" Kian said, motioning to us.

"Kian, listen. You should've gone after Lexi if you cared enough." Hayes said. I looked at Kian.

"Lexi..." He said. I stood up and walked out of the room.
