Lexi's POV

Devin was driving us back to the house, and it was now just after four in the afternoon.

"We should go to dinner tonight." Devin suggested as he got off the highway.

"Just us?" I asked.

"Whatever you want." He answered.

"I could ask Sam if her and Jc wanna come. Like a double date." I smiled.

"I'm thinking if it's a date then we do Italian..." Devin smirked.

"You know me too well." I laughed.

"I'll make a reservation when we get home." He said. A few minutes later, we pulled into the driveway of the huge house. We got out and grabbed my bags, leaving them inside the house at the bottom of the stairs. I walked into the kitchen, looking for Jc. I found him watching tv in the living room.

"Hey, where's Sammy?" I asked. I thought they were doing something today.

"She's out with Shawn." He said. Are you kidding me...??

"Okay...." I sighed, walking down the hall and to the stairs, grabbing my bags and going to get ready.

"Sam is with Shawn." I told Devin, who was in my room on my bed,  looking at his phone. "I can't believe him. She wasn't getting anything good from that relationship and he just keeps pulling her in!" I went through my suitcase full of clothes, finding a dress to wear.

"I know. But there has to be a reason for her to keep going back to him. She has to tell you eventually. Just try no to worry about it babe, okay?" He said, putting his phone in his pocket and sitting up. I walked into the bathroom and shut the door, taking off my clothes and slipping into my black lace dress. I reached behind me as far as I could attempting to zip up my dress, but I couldn't get it. I opened the door.

"Can you zip up my dress?" I asked Devin.

"Yeah." He said, standing up and walking over to me. I turned around as he placed one hand on my back, the other around the small zipper. I heard it go all the way to the top and felt Devin's hands leave me.

"Thanks." I whispered. I walked back into the bathroom and plugged in my curling iron. I picked up my phone and waited for the heating tool to get to temperature.

I went to Instagram, seeing all my friends and what they were doing, just moving on with their lives, not knowing what I've been through and done. I logged off Instagram and went through my pictures. I found a picture from the night of the gala, of Kian and I before we left, before everything that night happened. His arm was around my waist, and I was looking up at him smiling, my hand resting on his chest. I went back onto Instagram, and found it in my camera roll. I put a black and white filter on it and typed in the caption, before pressing 'post'. Seconds later, the picture of Kian and I appeared on my timeline, with the caption: I miss you. . .

I set my phone down and picked up the curling iron, testing it on a strand of hair to see if it was hot enough. I curled the rest of my hair and went back into my room to find Devin no where in sight. I found my nude heels and slipped my feet into them, grabbing my jacket and purse. I left my room, walking past Kian's room to Devin's. I knocked quietly and didn't hear anything. I turned the door knob and didn't see him in there. I went down the stairs, going slow, as to be sure I wouldn't trip. I found Devin in the living room talking to Jc, Nash and Ricky. He was wearing a white button up shirt with the top two buttons undone, black dress pants and brown shoes. He looked hella fine.

"I think your girl's ready, Dev." Nash said, gesturing to me. Devin turned around, looking at me in pure awe. I smiled. The other guys started their own conversation.

"We'll be back later." I said, as Devin intertwined his hand in mine.

"Have fun!" Ricky said.

"Not too much fun though." Nash winked at me.

"Oh shut up. " I laughed.

"You look gorgeous." Devin said as we went out to his car.

"Thank you love. You look very handsome yourself." I answered back. Once we got out onto the road, Devin rested his hand on my leg, my hand on top of his. We got to the restaurant and after getting inside, we sat down to wait for Devin's name to be called.

"We should look at apartments tonight..." I said, looking at my boy.

"Yeah, we should!" He smiled.

"Devin Hayes?" A waitress called. We stood up and she smiled.

"Right this way." She said, almost too enthusiastically. She took us to a table right beside the window, overlooking hills and the sun that would soon be setting. I opened my menu, scanning the seemingly endless options of Italian foods- pastas, pizzas, breads, rice dishes, wines, and appetizers.

"What do you think you're gonna get?" I asked Devin.

"Mm... probably the five cheese ravioli. What are you thinking?" He closed his menu.

"I think the fettuccine alfredo sounds really good right now." I also closed my menu, setting it at the end of the table. A different waitress came back, a fancy bottle in her hand.

"Hi, I'm Leah, I'll be your server tonight. We have our complementary champagne tonight, would you be interested?" I looked at Devin and he had a smile on his face. He told her yes and she retrieved two champagne glasses from a cabinet nearby. She set the glasses and bottle down, taking out a pad of paper and a pen.

"What will you guys be having?" She questioned.

"I would like the five cheese ravioli please, and the lady will have the fettuccine alfredo." Devin proudly said, as I attempted to suppress my laughter. She walked away and I opened the champagne bottle. I poured it into our glasses and set it down.

I was about to pick up my glass when someone a few table away caught my eye. I felt a pang of jealousy go through me and when our eyes met, my stomach dropped.

"Cheers to... us." Devin whispered. I looked back to Devin and picked up my glass and clinked it with his.

"Okay..." I said, taking a sip and feeling the bubbles go down my throat.
