Lexi's POV

Kian and I quickly climbed into the backseat of the van that a few of the boys had shown up in to warn us that I had been seen. By who? No clue. Anyone really.

"It's gonna be okay." Kian whispered in my ear, apparently noticing me looking frantically out the window for people that might recognize me. I nodded, only somewhat believing him.

At the house

We made it home without any suspicious looks.

"We need to be extra careful with you Lexi, now that it's just you." Cameron said, as a group of us sat at the kitchen table.

"You don't need to remind me, Cam." I sighed.

"It could've been James or his brother who 'saw you' with Kian in town. If he's the one holding Sam right now, and maybe Shawn, we can't let him take you too." Ethan said.

"Oh right, I forgot, cause I'm just an object and not a living being." I said, rolling my eyes.

"You're not an object." Devin said. I looked at him, slightly shrugging my shoulders. He's always been so nice to me. Personally, I don't think he belongs with most of these guys.

"That's not what I meant, Lexi..." Ethan growled. And like every time he talked to me, I got a sick feeling in my stomach. I then decided it would be best for me to shut my mouth during this discussion.

"Has anyone heard from Shawn?" Cameron asked those of us sitting around the table.

"No. He must have disabled the tracker that we-" Aaron started to say.

"Tracker?" Devin interrupted.

"Never mind." Aaron mumbled.

"You guys put a tracking device on Shawn?" Devin asked, as the guys continued talking.

"She can't know why." Grayson said, eyeing me.

"Why can't I know?" I questioned.

"Because you aren't one of us!" Ethan yelled.

"Wow, I never realized that Ethan. Thank you for clarifying." I sarcastically said.

"Just keep your nose out of our business. Can you at least do that?!" He asked rudely.

"Why are you like this Ethan?" Devin asked.

"She's asking such stupid questions!" Ethan yelled, motioning to me. Devin shook his head. I wish Kian was here... where is he? I got up and left the table, walking into my room. I was trying to contain the tears that were threatening to fall, but they weren't sad tears, I was just so pissed at Ethan. He knows just how to grind my gears.

"Just leave her alone dude." I heard a voice say, and footsteps following me up the wood stairs. I went into the bathroom, leaving the door open.

"Lexi..." I recognized Devin's voice. I tied my hair into a bun and  turned on the water, cupping my hands under it and splashing my face with the cool water. I shut it off and dried my face. I looked in the mirror, my hands on the counter, Devin's tall figure standing in the doorway.

"You can't let what the guys say get to your head..." He said. I shook my head.

"It's not that. I know I'm not one of them. I'm the opposite really. It's just that Ethan pisses me off so much. He knows exactly how to grind my gears. It's odd, considering he doesn't know me all too well, other than knowing my name and that he hates me." I said, leaving the bathroom and sitting down on my bed. I scooted over, making room for Dev.

"That's exactly his goal. He just wants to push you over the edge. He wants a reaction." He said.

"Why are you here, Devin? Like with the guys. You're so different from them." I inquired. He sighed.

"It wasn't my idea. Kian talked me into it. He said I would 'get along with everyone'. Which is only slightly true." He let out a little laugh.

"Oh..." I nodded.

"But I'm seriously glad that I got to meet you. Shit, I mean not in that way you know, cause, just never mind." He stuttered. I laughed.

"I'm glad I met you too." I smiled, looking down slightly. Holy shit... I don't know what's going on... but I have this feeling that...

FLASHBACK

"Lexi, are you ready, honey?" My mom called from downstairs. I took one last look in the mirror, smoothing out my burgundy homecoming dress. I smiled at myself.

It's gonna be fine Lexi, you will have a great time, especially with him.

"Yes, mom." I blurted, leaving my room. I carefully walked down the stairs.

"Aw there's my girl, ready for her sophomore homecoming!" My mom commentated as she recorded on her phone. I smiled nervously as I made it to the bottom of the stairs. I looked at my phone which was safely being held in my right hand to see a text from my boyfriend.

"Can you stop recording please? Dylan will be here any minute!" I laughed. My mom put her phone in her pocket of her jeans.

"You excited?" She asked, as this was my first time going to homecoming, since I didn't go last year.

"Yeah, a little nervous too." We talked for a few minutes before I heard a knock at the door. I walked over to see my date for tonight looking as handsome as ever. I got that feeling I got every time I saw him, and I couldn't really describe it...

it was just simply the feeling of being in love.

END OF FLASHBACK

And that was the same feeling I just felt...

"You okay?" Devin asked with a small smile.

"I'm great." I said, as he looked at my lips and we both leaned in. My eyes fluttered closed. Our lips connected and that feeling only grew stronger. He kissed me with such passion, causing me to only want more, and I smiled into the kiss. We pulled away when we heard the front door slam closed and Kian's voice.

Shit.

"I think I should go now." He winked, standing up, giving me a quick kiss on my forehead. Wow...Devin...just wow....

I laid down on my bed, thinking about what just happened. I picked up my phone, putting my earbuds in and putting my music on shuffle.

"Hey." I heard, scaring me. I sat up, seeing Kian standing in the doorway smiling.

"Jesus, you scared me Kian." I said, letting out my breath. He walked over, and sat down, laying on my bed. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me to him. I laid down next to him, my arm across his chest, his fingers delicately tracing my back.

Thoughts of Kian and Devin raced through my mind, as that certain feeling returned...
