Sammy's POV

I was cuddle into the corner of the wall by the wall. I was scared and I know Shawn was just a bed room over but I couldn't help but think that I wasn't ever going to be safe again. I honestly don't know if I trust Shawn. But who will I ever trust, my life got taken away from me. My family doesn't even care that I'm gone. If they were actually looking I would have been found by now.

I got up and went to the bathroom and splashed my face with water. I looked at my red eyes. I looked around the bathroom to see family pics. I don't know who they are. But this house has been empty since I was a little kid. We use to always look at this place and wonder if it was haunted.

I looked at myself in the mirror again and started to cry. I was never going to be safe. Ever again.

"Come here" Shawn said. I looked at the door way to see Shawn standing there with his arms open. I went to him and he held me tight.

"I'm scared" I said

"Listen, Sam. I know you are but I'll protect you" He said playing with my hair. His scent just made me feel better.

"Let's get you to bed, Sam" He said and I started to cry more. He picked me up and brought me to my bedroom. He set me down and got up to leave.

"Just stay Shawn" I said starting to cry more

"Please don't cry anymore. I'm willing to do anything to make you better" He said

"Cuddle with me please" I said he got in next to me and held me close to him. Like he was going to lose me in a matter of seconds.

"Goodnight, beautiful" He said kissing my temple.

-MORNING-

I woke up with the sun coming through the broken window. I heard humming coming from outside the room. I assumed it was Shawn because he wasn't in the bed anymore. I went to the kitchen to see Shawn sitting on the counter reading a news paper. He heard me come in and he looked up at me.

"Good morning, Mendes" I said with a slight smile

"Hey" He said

"Do you wanna go and get something to eat. I think I have some money in my wallet" I said

"I can pay but we need to get out of town a little more" he said

"How much longer?" I asked

"less than an hour, pumpkin" He said getting off the counter

"Let's get going then" I said with a big smile and he just laughed at me

We got to a diner and walked in. We argued in the car which diner we should go to. He wanted to go to this one and no other one. There had to be a reason why.

"Hey Shawn" A beautiful waitress said to him smirking.

"Where are they?" He asked and she pointed to the back where 3 boys were seated laughing. They had leather jackets on and looked super greasy. Shawn walked over to them. He went into the booth and he made room for me. I sat next to him and examined the guys.

"Shawn Mendes, why the hell are you back in town" one of them said. I looked at the two other guys and noticed that one of them was Ryan. Ryan was Shawn's guy childhood best friend.

"God damn, Sam. You haven't changed one bit" Ryan said looking me up and down.

"I see you haven't either" I said scoffing at him and Ryan just rolled his eyes at me

"The guys kicked me out. So we are on our way far away from that town" Shawn said

"You took this girl with you" the other guy said
