Okay, moment over. Now to the story.

Every moment that was being made on my honeymoon, is one more moment I longed for – treasured – but was also one more moment closer to death.
And I knew that.
I wrapped my cardigan closer to my fragile frame as Mason slumped down on the blanket next to me. He was out of breath because he’d been running up and down the beach; his toned abdomen was catching a nice tan, I’d noticed.
“You know, I think we should go inside now.” He said thoughtfully.
I blinked, but didn’t turn to look at him. “I’m enjoying the view.”
“But you look cold.” He persisted.
“I’m fine.”
“Jamie…” Mason said, concern riddling his voice just like the cancer was riddling my body.
“I really believe we should go now. There’s a slight wind.”
“It’s only three in the afternoon, you know. I just want to enjoy my time here.” I turned to Mason and kissed his nose – which was wrinkled up – and laughed at the adoring worried expression that was on his face. “It’s our honeymoon. Enjoy the view.”
His expression softened at the mention of our honeymoon. It was like I was reminding him that this was a honeymoon, and that he shouldn’t think of this as my last holiday. We were here because we got married. Not because I was dying. “Okay, baby.” He whispered.
I laid my head on his shoulder and the heat radiating from his skin warmed my cheeks up – which I hoped would warm the rest of my body up. Together, silently, we looked out at the beautiful view in front of us – which were clear blue skies, warm litter-free sand and turquoise sea. The waves were calm nearer to the edge of the sea by the beach but further out they were large, fit for surfing. They even had a couple’s surf rentals further up the beach by the hotel.
The hotel was great.
Straight on the edge of the sand it begins, with cream walls and red titled bricks protecting each perfectly designed room but left the back of the hotel open spaced. And from each balcony, you open your door, and look down on the outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and bathing pool. The balcony itself spreads right across from the back rooms in front of the swimming pool and the two sides that stand either side of the swimming pool.
It was like something out of the Sims video game.
Utter perfection.
Once a dream for me, and now I was here, with the boy I loved.
Mason kissed the top of my head and careful not to disturb my position, yanked a blanket from the floor next to him that was neatly wrapped up as a spare, and laid it across my body.
“Are you hungry?”
“No.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.” I replied, looking up at Mason through my eyelashes and flashing him a grin. He wrapped his arms around me and continued to look out into the sea, but with a distant look in his eyes. I frowned, hoping he was thinking about himself and not my health.
