Part 27: Reunion of Strangers

"You look beautiful Ari" I hear Harry say as I walk over to the family sized mini-van he was standing in front of and he gives me a kiss on my cheek. We were currently at his mom's house in Cheshire getting ready to go to a family reunion where a bunch of his family would be and I'm really nervous. I mean, I've met Harry's mom, dad, step-dad, sister and a few aunts and uncles but there will be people there who Harry barely even knows and I'm not the best in social situations. Besides, I'm not even that close with the one's I have met besides Harry's mom, step dad, and sister and I'm sure none them will want to hang out with me much when their whole family is there and I don't want to follow Harry around like some lost dog all day. "Are you nervous?" he asks as he furrows his eyebrows and grabs my hand, I guess I'm not hiding my thoughts that well.

"I don't know, I mean I just don't want to make a bad impression" I admit, I mean it's true but it's definitely not my biggest concern right now. I mean most of Harry's closest family members already like me, I don't want to tell him about how I don't want to leave his side today since I'm sure he'll be pulled away from me eventually and I don't want to make him feel obligated to hanging out with me all day.

"You won't babe, don't worry. You're great and no one's expecting you to be some larger than life person." He says as he rubs his hand up and down my arm and I nod in agreement.

"Is everyone ready to go?" I hear Anne ask as she walks out of the house while adjusting the earrings she was wearing.

"Everyone except Gemma" Robin says. "She's taking quite some time" he chuckles. Once Gemma comes all five of us head into the van and begin to drive about half an hour towards the reunion spot. Apparently they had rented out a venue in a large park just for this. Once we get to the park, there are hundreds of cars parked all around and I feel myself get really nervous, I hate having to talk and be social with so many people I don't even know around. There are a few people standing around outside but once we get inside the place, it feels as though I've been thrown into any introvert's worst nightmare, there are people all around laughing and socializing with each other, and kids running around everywhere. They all know each other but I don't, and I feel myself begin to panic.

"Anne! Oh my gosh, I've been waiting for you to get here. Robin, it's so good to see you! And Gemma and Harry oh my gosh, if I hadn't seen photos of you two I wouldn't have been able to recognize you both!" Some lady in probably her mid fifties says as she hugs Anne before pulling away to greet everyone else as she hugs them while I stand there smiling and trying not to be awkward.

"I've missed you too Aunt Jade!" Gemma says with a smile as she hugs her quickly and then she turns to face Harry who also greets her with a small hug. She is much shorter than him and it's funny to see him bend down to hug her, he's so use to doing that I'm sure he doesn't even really think about it.

"It's good to see you Aunt Jade" Harry says as he hugs her, once he pulls away he grabs my hand, "and uh, this is my girlfriend Ariana, and Ari this is my Aunt Jade, she's Robin's step sister' he says and I nod my head as I smile at her while quickly trying to figure out if I'm suppose to shake her hand or hug or do nothing, thankfully she leans in for a hug and so I do as well.

"Oh hi Ariana! It's so nice to meet you! I saw Bridesmaids and have been waiting ever since to thank you personally for how amazing it is" she says and I laugh as I quickly thank her before Anne begins to talk about how much she's missed Jade. We all stand there and listen until Gemma is whisked away by some of her cousins and not soon after Anne begins talking about how cute Harry and I are together and Harry starts to get embarrassed and begins to pull us away.

"Okay, that's enough! We'll see you guys later" Harry says playfully as he places his hands on my waist and pulls me away with him as his aunt, step-dad and mom laugh. "We don't need to hear that" he laughs as he grabs my hand and begins to walk around. I look around at all the people, I don't know any of them and some are looking at me, some don't care but either way I feel uncomfortable and my heart begins to pound really hard. Not long after Harry and I left his Aunt are we stopped by some people who seem to be his uncles and cousins, most of which are male.
