Author's POV:-

Saniya was in a very good mood that day. After returning from the interview, she took a warm bath and slept for a while. She prayed Asr after waking up about an hour later.

She was humming to herself while doing her work when she heard some commotion in the house. She paid little attention to it.

Suddenly, the loud thud of her room's door being burst open made her jump. In came Zahid fuming like he had swallowed burning charcoal. She was turned halfway towards the door and her hands froze in air with the clothes she was folding.

Zahid marched inside towards Saniya. He gripped her arm and pushed her up against the nearest wall. "Why did you come to my office today?", he barked. She stared at him with horror and shock. "Answer me.", he demanded. "I.. I wanted to give you the lunch. You couldn't even eat in the morning properly, so I..", she managed but was soon cut off by him, "Oh ya? I wasn't going to die without your food. And seriously? I know very well that you just wanted to show off or get attention. And then... you..", now he grabbed both her arms so tightly, it probably cut off the blood supply to her forearm arm and hand and pushed her further towards the wall. "How dare you call yourself my wife? Whoever said I would accept a filthy excuse for a girl such as yourself as my damn wife? I wouldn't even let shit like you to stick on my shoes. I bet you just wanted to show off the asset you earned by using your filthy tricks on my father.", he snarled at her. His eyes shot such venomous daggers, she could feel herself bleeding in and out.

"No, Zahid, you are misunderstanding me....", she tried. "Shut up! Just shut up your thrash of a mouth! I have had enough of your crap today. First the poisonous food for breakfast, then that extravagant lunch with the crappy note... and to top it up.. you introduced yourself as my wife? You mean lesser than the street dogs to me. And you said you were 'Mrs. Zahid' You... It would disgust me to even spit on you..", he said and then grabbed the lower part of her face in the 'u' of her hand (between the thumb and the fingers), squishing her her cheeks just below the cheekbones.

"This is the first and last warning. Do not cross my path. I will not spare you if you do.", he threatened before stomping out of the room and banging her door shut behind him.

All that happened was just too much for Saniya. She stared at the door, still baffled until her legs gave way and she slid down the wall. Nothing made sense to her anymore... Nothing...
