"Let the fight begin!" Lotor cheered from his seat above the arena with a Galra version of a mic.
Shiro instantly dove for his weapon, clutching it with his only hand. He then rushed behind a pillar. Pidge took a few seconds, or ticks, longer to grab her own. They had to make this seem real. She had to fight Shiro.
She had to attack the man she loved. Not an easy task. She pointed her bayard at the pillar she saw Shiro go behind and lassoed it using her grappling hook feature, catching Shiro in the process. He forgot about that feature. She rush over to him, thinking of what to do next. When she arrived, Shiro smiled and used his bayard to overrule Pidge's with an energy shock. The shock traveled up to her hand, making her drop her bayard. Shiro was freed and he took a fighting stance. She was afraid of him and had to make a retreat to another pillar, leaving her bayard on the ground.
Shiro took the center and scanned the area Pidge hid, awaiting for her to make a run for her bayard. She never moved, or so he thought. Pidge came in with a flying kick from behind that landed on his back. The black paladin stumbled then turned around, but she was gone. She was small and that alone made her fast. Shiro realized he may loose this match.
He knew that if he did, Pidge would never let him live it down. He had to win, not only so Pidge wouldn't be able to bring up the time she beat him over and over again, but so if the winner was to continue in gladiator fights, he wouldn't have to worry about her.
He caught a glimpse of brown hair going from a pillar to another. He had her.
"Come on, Katie. Let's not drag out this fight out longer then needed. Stop with the hide and seek," Shiro called. She rushed at him only to swerve around him like one would during a basketball game to avoid a player of the opposite team. She scooped her bayard up and charged at him. They clashed bayards.
"I don't think I can keep this up," she whispered before they jumped away from the other only to charge again and clash weapons once more. Shiro only having one arm made this a whole lot easier for Pidge, but man, he does not go down easy.
"Well your doing good, just keep this up a little longer," he whispered back to her.
"Okay." She then smiled as her bayard shocked him. "That's for earlier. I didn't know yours had a similar function to mine."
"Neither did I. I just wanted it to get me out," he replied, grinding his teeth as he withstood the aftereffects of being shocked.
Suddenly a creaking sound came from behind Pidge, on the opposite side as they entered. A roar also emerged from the same direction. The crowd cheered and shook at the very sound of the horrific roar.
"Time to spice this up! The battlers now have to unite and fight Pillar Death!" Lotor announced as a incredibly large Galra stepped out into the arena. He had large fist, a rippled chest, and tusks. Was that even Galra? It had the purple fur and ears.
Then Pidge saw it, the giant club in his hands. She was officially going to die in this place.
Pidge allowed her hands to drop, followed by Shrio's. "I should've known he had something up his sleeve!" Shiro shouted as he grabbed Pidge's arm. He pulled her far back as their new challenger walked further into the arena, shaking the ground with each step. "Katie, I have an idea, okay? Trust me."
