Pov: Vic.
"Hey, what do you say, after the game, you come back to my place?" Oli asked me, and I instantly agreed with, possibly, a little too much eagerness, but he didn't seem to mind.
I rubbed my eyes, attempting to demolish any evidence I had been crying, because walking into a crowded ambiance with sparkly tears rolling off my chin, followed by bloodshot eyes, wouldn't exactly go well for someone like me, especially when a fair amount of the people in this place are tall, strong bullies, who for some reason hate my guts.
I'm still upset to the ninth degree, I can't believe Kellin was so quick to change back to the attitude of a heartless prick. But somehow, the Britishness practically towering from above me told me everything was going to be okay; he didn't even need to say anything for that relieved feeling to come over me, all it took, really, was a simple, reassuring smile.
I was rather disappointed when the warmness of Oli's arm fell back down to his side, once we'd reached the sides of the bleachers where there were now only a few vacant seats, the loud cheering and continuous chatter brimming around us and making it difficult to hear each other speak.
"I have to head out to the field now, chap! You sit right here and enjoy the game, alright?" He spoke over the loudness, putting a hand on my shoulder and lowering me down onto the seat with our gazes never moving from one and other's eyes.
Almost forgetting all about Kellin, my once calm smile developed into a happy grin, teeth and all! Before Oli could run off onto the field to start warming up, along with the rest of his team, I grabbed hold of his arm to say one last thing to him before he left, "Win for me, okay?"
Oli broke out in an adorable fit of laughter, cheesily holding a hand to his torso and causing a few people to shoot raised eyebrows his way. Ignoring them, he leaned down and exclaimed into my ear, "I don't play for your school, ya' git!"
"I don't care!" I laughed and gazed up at him as he rose back up high, "the last thing I want is for Kellin to win! And I like you, so there's no doubt I'm going to be cheering for your team. I don't care how many people from my school give me dirty looks, in fact," I stood up, matching the height of Oli's chin, parting my lips and shouting as loud as I could while jumping in the air, "GO STOCKSBRIDGE!"
That was sure something I've never done before, and just as expected, a few hard glares were thrown my way, but surprisingly, I didn't care, or fall into embarrassment, because hearing Oli's laugh from in front of me made everything worth while, as cutesy as that sounds.
I'd only just met the guy and I was already fascinated by his weird, friendly personality. It was too early to call it a crush, but it was safe to say that is the direction it was heading in. And it's only now that I'm realizing, maybe that was a good thing...
"Alright, Vic. I'll win, for you. I promise." I didn't expect Oli's lips to come in contact with my cheek, planting a tiny kiss against it, but as soon as they did, it caused my face to burn red with calcification, the smile on my lips almost impossible to mend. Oli grinned at me, spinning on his heel and letting his long legs move quickly towards the field, and in that moment I knew Kellin was the last of my worries.
