Pov: Jenna.
Kellin Quinn is a fucking dick. Hold on, whoops, I accidentally made an understatement, let me rephrase that last sentence. Kellin Quinn is, a conceited, selfish, disrespectful, idiotic, arrogant, crude, ill-mannered, foul-mouthed, cocky little twat.
And part of me knew all along he was at least some of these things, but I never knew he was this bad.
"Ugh!" I let out one of my famous frustrated groans, gaze never leaving from the table my best friend was standing behind, scribbling down words on his notepad as the teenagers surrounding him overwhelmed him with their lips never stopping. God damn it, they were telling him to go and buy them lunch! Vic was not, I repeat; NOT some fucking maid people could push around. Just because he's timid doesn't mean he should be treated like a doormat! My wits urged me to storm right over to them, and give them a piece of my mind. But I knew they wouldn't listen.
"What have I done, turtle!" I turned to Tony, referring to him by the nickname I'd made for him in third grade due to his undying fascination with the cute and small creatures, "If I didn't push Vic into writing that stupid Valentines note, none of this would have happened. Look at Kellin over there, that inconsiderate prick, ordering our little guy around like a slave. Who does he think he is? Holy Jesus, I don't know what the blindin' flamingos made me think he'd be good enough for the Sexican!"
Tony sighed, speaking calmly, the total opposite to my tone of voice. Dang it, he and Vic always made me feel so loud, especially Vic. "Jenna," He looked at me rather sternly, "you promised us you would never refer to us as Sexican's again, because it's so unbelievably lame. What are you doing with your life?"
"Shut up, Tony! I happen to like the word. Who doesn't want to be sexy? You guys, obviously. Weirdos. I wish I was Sexican. If I was, I'd be the sexiest Sexican there ever was-!"
"Jenna!" A rare occurrence happened as Tony actually raised his voice at me. I guess I pushed his buttons a little. I'll admit, I'm way too enthusiastic at times, some may find it annoying, but when I open my mouth I find it hard to close it again. Not my fault I'm a chatter-box. Jesus, Tony, give a girl a break.
"You're getting off topic again."
"Oh, right." I realized, "what are we going to do? Obviously, we're not going to get Vic to stay away from him just by merely asking. We both know he's not going to do it, he's been obsessed with Kellin for years, and now that he finally has his attention, he's gotten a little deluded. But I can see right through Kellin's act. I only realized this morning, but I know Kellin can't be dragging Vic along with him everywhere because he actually likes him. I mean, come on, it's Kellin. The only reason would be because he's using him. That," I pointed to Vic who was now waiting in line to purchase Kellin's cliche's food, "being the reason for this unfair, iniquitous use."
"You really don't stop talking, do you?"
"You're getting off topic, Tony," I mocked his previous words, feeling smart as a cheek filled smile came to my face, and turtle just rolled his eyes. You could tell when he was sick of me, this being one of those times. But he still loved me, he knew I was cute.
"Whatever." Tony shrugged, "I think I have a way to get Vic away from those parsimonious jocks and annoyingly bubbly cheerleaders." Seeing my sudden eagerness, he laughed before following up his previous exclamation.
"I have a friend-"
"That's hard to believe." Tony glared at me. Oh come on, that was funny!
"Anyway," His glare hardened, "as I was saying, I have a friend, yes Jenna, I have friends," I held back a sniffle, "He's from Stocksbridge, and his name is Oliver -- aka. The most persuasive Brit on the planet. If he can't put some sense into Vic's head and convince him to stay away from Kellin, no one can."
Pov: Kellin.
"Dude, Kellin, I underestimated you. Your idea to get Vic to buy our lunch for us is working perfectly." Jaime grinned at me from across the table, and the rest of the group echoed agreeable chants in reply, complimenting me on how smart I was. I didn't smile, or say thanks. It would take a lot for me to show gratitude, I saved it only for the people who truly deserved it, people like... Wow, I can't even think of anyone. Myself? Yeah, myself. My perfect, beautiful self.
"Yeah," I nodded, "I told you guys to trust me, didn't I?" A few more smiles shot my way, and then everyone's attention focused on the miniature Hispanic lined up behind a swarm of teenagers at the cafeteria. I wasn't surprised when I took in the sight of people pushing past him. He didn't even fucking stop them. Nope, he just let them because let's face it, he's still the same, shy little boy we all knew him to be from just days ago. Though it was cute, it needed to change.
Oh fucking hell, I'm using that word again.
"Look at him," Austin laughed, observing as Vic bit his lip and played with his sleeves while waiting for the lunch line to move, "So fucking innocent. I'll bet he's never done anything wrong in his entire life."
"You can say that again," Alex agreed, "he's nothing like his brother."
"Hey, I've got an idea." You could tell when Jack was up to no good, he got this troublesome gleam in the corners of his eyes. Gaining everyone's attention, his smile grew and he continued, "Why don't we play a game? Mess with him a little? First one to get Vic to do something he wouldn't normally do, is allowed to keep the trophy when we smash Stocksbridge High in the school finals tomorrow night. Who's in?"
Everyone was in, obviously. But I think I was the one most determined to win. I wanted that trophy to be in my arms tomorrow night, and no one else's. Plus, God damn it, this would give me an excuse to spend even more time with Vic. Though, just as I was about to stand up and head over to play my first move, Jaime beat me to it.
"Observe, losers. Let me show you how it's done." A cocky smirk built onto his lips, and I just rolled my eyes, sinking back into the seat as I watched him edge towards the lunch line. Vic wouldn't fall for it... No way would he fall for it... Would he?
