Chapter 26 - I will come back for you

Cara's POV

"What ?" I asked, my eyes wide as i tried to let it all in.

He just shrugged in return.

I almost chocked on my saliva. Oh god.

I took in a deep gulp of air, "Please tell me this is one of your jokes." I said.

He shook his head with a smile, "Sadly, no."

I removed his arms from around me as i sat straight facing him, i shook my head, "You can't be serious, like you can't Alex, what the hell, this is -" i pressed my palm over my forehead, his words made no sense to me, "It's dangerous." It's way more than just dangerous. They will ruin him.

"It's the only way." He said ever so calmly. How can he be so calm when i am freaking out over here !

"No, there must be any other way, not this, you can't - you can't lead a freaking mafia !" I wanted to scream.

Alex's lips curled up in annoyance, "Why ? Just your dear husband can ?"

I want to kill him.

I shot him a glare, "Don't talk like this."

His jaw tightened as he looked away from me, "Alex please ! Do you know how fucked up this is, they will control you, they will make you do things you never thought of doing, this is the underworld business, this is some serious messed up shit."

"I know." He simply answered as he looked back at me.

"No you don't !" I snapped.

"I need this power or else how i am going to get rid of that fucker ! " he said, his voice low yet stiff.

"He is a monster Alex, do you wanna be a monster too ?" I can't let him lose the good in him just so for vengeance. I can't.

"To kill a monster, you need to become a one." His answers are all ready, aren't they !

I shook my head, "Then you don't have to kill him."

He raised an eyebrow in return, "My brother and father are taking care of it, you stay out of it."

His jaw ticked, "So what ? I just sit around waiting for that lame excuse of a father you call to fail you again."

I gulped, his words hit a place in me.

He shook his head, his eyes hard as he talked, "Cara I can't freaking sleep, I can't even breath knowing that man is out there living normally after all he did to us, to you.

It's true i am smiling, i am laughing, i am trying to go back to normal, but that doesn't freaking mean i forgot everything, those two years are still living inside me, those bruises on your back won't suddenly disappear like they never was, so don't come now and tell me to stay out of it -" The anger that took over his eyes again scared me, the look in them was too familiar, a look I've seen before, but not on him.

It is the same look that clouds Nikolas's eyes before the monster shows up.

"Because I won't, i took my decision and nothing is going to change it, I won't rest till i have him. I won't rest till he pays for everything he've done."
