All I can say is that I am so sorry. I know you all hate me, it's okay, I hate me too for not writing a single word for months.

Two weeks later...

Alex's POV

"Oh..look how cute he is," I said as my eyes fell on Chase, his eyes were closed and his head resting on Ashton's chest, peacefully sleeping.

Cara turned to me and her eyebrows pulled together, "Ashton or Chase?"

I shot her a glare to which she innocently shrugged as we made our way further inside the hospital's hall. Ashton's head was turned to the other side, his hand resting on the back of Chase's head, gently stroking it. At the sound of our footsteps, he turned his head and his eyes fell on us. They flicked back to Chase when he stirred in his arms.

When we stopped right by their side, Chase's eyes slowly glided open and he looked up at us. He brought his small fist to his eye and rubbed at it, he sniffled and more tears gathered in his eyes. I immediately bent down and took him in my arms, he willingly came, his arms found their way around my neck and he rested the side of his head over my shoulder. I ran my hand through his hair and softly asked, "Hey buddy, what's wrong?"

I looked back at Ashton, "Why is he here?" I asked.

He sighed and tiredly rubbed his eyes, he looked beyond tired, physically and mentally, "He was crying a lot, he wasn't eating or sleeping so I told my sister to bring him here."

Chase removed his head from over my shoulder, "Alex." My name rolled out of his mouth as a little whisper. I looked down at him in my arms, "Yeah?" I said and with my thumb, I wiped the few tears from over his cheek away. He sniffled and said, "I want Katherine."

My eyebrows pulled together, "You didn't see her?"

He shook his head sadly, "No."

I looked at Ashton and gave him a questioning look. "The nurses won't let him get inside." He said.

"Who the fuck cares about that!" I said with a raised eyebrow before I looked at Chase, "I'll take you to see Katherine, just don't cry, okay?"

He nodded his head repeatedly before he wiped the tears from over his cheek.

"Alex, they don't let him in for a reason," Ashton said as he stood up.

I shot him a glare, "I don't care." I said, "The boy wants to see his mother, the least you can do is give him that."

I started walking away toward Katherine's room, Ashton said something to which I simply ignored while Cara silently followed behind. I placed my hand over the door's knob but before I opened it, I looked at Chase, "But the doctor said that Katherine needs to rest so she can get better, so don't wake her up, okay?" I said, trying to somehow explain why she wouldn't wake up now.

He nodded his head, a glint of happiness in his teary eyes only at the idea of seeing his mother after so long. I kissed the top of his head before I opened the door and stepped inside. Before I even had the chance to place him down, he fought his way out of my embrace and scurried toward the bed.

He stood at its edge, his hands pressed against the mattress and he silently looked at her. I walked closer, I held him up and placed him on the bed. He cautiously inched closer, his hand slowly went and rested against Katherine's cheek. His head tilted to the side and he sadly whispered, "Mommy."
