I awoke the next day feeling hyped up with energy. I'd fallen asleep in the car on the way home last night, Sam had changed my gauze and put me to bed. He must have taken my gauze out before he went to sleep though for it was no where in sight!

I ran through to Sam's bedroom where he was still sleeping and poked his head gently. He awoke with a stir, rubbed his eyes and stared at me grumpily.

"Come on lazy, it's time to wake up!" I exclaimed, continuing to poke his head.

"Ugh, what time is it?" he groaned.

"8:30" I answered.

"Just because you went to sleep early last night doesn't mean I did" he moaned, pulling the covers over his face.

"Come on Sam, pleeaaasssseeee" I whined.

"Alright alright, go get dressed and I'll meet you downstairs for breakfast" Sam sighed causing me to smile with delight.

I sprinted round the corner and into my room, where I whipped open my wardrobe to decide on the apparel for the day. I pulled on a dark green polo shirt with some black shorts. I then nipped into the bathroom to sort out my hair (which was a rare occasion!) I scooped out some hair gel, rubbed it between my hands and swept my hair to the side. It was difficult to manage the curls so they still remained at the front, but I liked it.

I washed my hands and ran down the stairs to find Sam already dressed and looking flawless as per usual. He wore a blue and white striped t-shirt with chino shorts. It was a much better look than the usual doctors coat! His hair was in it's same swift quiff.

"Your hair is looking good Billy, you should do that more often" he smiled, serving me some crunchy peanut butter toast and an apple. "Thought you'd better eat some non-braces food whilst you've got them off."

"Thanks Sam" I laughed, gobbling down my food.

Once we were finished, the plates were washed and it was finally time to go!

"Okay Billy, let's go brush our teeth and then we'll go."

Of course.

We headed to the bathroom together and began to brush our teeth. I noticed Sam watching me very carefully, probably inspecting my brushing. But it seemed he approved as nothing was criticised. Then, we pulled on our shoes and set off to the fete!

We arrived at the fete after a hour drive, and wow, I'd never seen something so beautifully crazy in my life! Bright lights flashed frantically all over the scene, rides were moving at lightning speeds all around the show. I'd never been to a fete before...but I knew for a fact this was going to be a whole lot of fun!

"Wow, this looks amazing Sam! What should we go on first?!"

"Hold your horses Billy" Sam laughed, gripping me round the shoulder, "let's go buy our tickets first."

Tickets bought, wristbands equipped. It was time for some fun!

"Sam, Sam, come on, can we go on the giant rollercoaster first?" I pleaded, gently gripping my brother's shirt and tugging slightly.

"Sure Billy" he laughed, smiling delicately.

We queued for around fifteen minutes until we finally took our seats on the ride, pulled down the bar, and off we went! There were many bumps, hills and round and rounds. I screamed many times with excitement, whilst Sam tried to hide the fact he wanted fo throw up. When the ride had finished, Sam smiled through his pale face, attempting to dismiss he had been scared.

"You're such a baby" I laughed, getting off the ride.

"No I'm not!" he replied, "I loved it!"

"Yeah yeah" I teased.

The rollercoaster was just the start, we went on so many more rides, ate lunch consisting of hot dogs, fries and fizzy drink, (not that Sam was happy about it) and won a few stuffed animals from the stalls. The day went so fast, but it was such a blast!

"Hey Sam, I was wondering..." I started.

"Yes, Billy?"

"You've never let me try cotton candy before. Do you think we could get some? Please?"

"You do realise it's just pure sugar, right?" Sam replied, rolling his eyes.

"I know but I want to try it, please Sam? You did say I could have anything I wanted, remember?"

"Fine" Sam groaned, passing me some money from his wallet.

"Thanks Sam! You truly are the best brother in the world" I exclaimed, hugging him tight. He smiled graciously and returned the hug.

"I know I am" he smirked.

Hurrily, I bought the cotton candy from a nearby stall and followed Sam to the car, where our fantastic day at the fete came to a close.

We buckled our seatbelts, and Sam began the long drive home.

"Thank you so much for taking me to the fete Sam, I had a fantastic time and really enjoyed hanging out with you. You can be a whole bunch of fun sometimes, you know."

"You're welcome Billy, I enjoyed it too." he smiled.

Sam watched me out of the corner of his eye as I slowly opened the bag of pink, fluffy cotton candy, took a small pinch of it and placed it in my mouth.

"How is it?" he smirked, looking slightly intrigued.

"It's actually so good" I grinned seeming surprised. How had I avoided this for so long?

"Fantastic" Sam said sarcastically. "That'll rot straight through your teeth you know, won't be long until you're saying hello to my good friend, Mr. Drill" he sniggered.

"You're not at work currently Sam, we can just have fun, can't we? Come on, just try some. A bit of sugar isn't gonna kill you!"

"I'll pass" he answered, not taking his eyes off the road. What a boring sod.

Once we returned home, it wasn't long 'til I crashed in my bed. What a long yet lovely day!
