When I awoke the morning after, it was a drizzly Sunday, with the rain gently tapping on the window with every little drop. The clouds were a dismal grey, and the blue from the sky had been drained completely.
I hopped out of bed, just like the day before, and decided to take a shower before I got dressed. I slowly crept downstairs, again, not knowing where Adam was. I saw through the living room door that he was using his MacBook. I greeted him good morning, and informed him that I was going to take a shower, to which he nodded, then returned back to his business.
It took me a little while to figure out how to use the shower, as it was different to the one at home. I hadn't used the shower at Adam's house yet, mainly because I was slightly scared to do so. But once I'd figured it out, it was lovely and warm.
After getting myself dried and dressed, I took it upon myself to pour a bowl of cereal and milk. The milk caused the cereal to go soggy, which I was happy about. I sat at the kitchen table on my own, eating my breakfast. Yet, a few minutes later Adam walked into the room.

"I got myself some cereal, I hope that's okay" I said to Adam, as I began to worry because I hadn't asked his permission.

"Of course it's okay, Billy. You're welcome to help yourself to anything that you need." He sat down opposite me. "The weather isn't great today, as you've probably seen" he conversed.

I nodded my head, whilst engulfing a big mouthful of cereal and milk.

"So I'm not sure what we should do today. Do you have any ideas?" he asked me.

I thought about the question for a few seconds, then remembered what Adam had said to me in the car on Friday.

"I think you said you would teach me some more things about dentistry" I reminded him.

He smiled lightly. "Would you like that?" he asked me curiously.

I nodded my head.

"Okay, yeah we can do that" he replied. He looked like he was in deep thought. "Yeah," he said again.

After I'd finished eating my bowl of cereal, I quickly washed up the bowl. Adam had insisted that he'd wash it up for me, but I felt rude letting him do it, so I made sure to do it myself. Sam would've been proud of me for that. Afterwards, I sat down at the table with Adam, and we began the lesson.

"So, is there anything in particular that you'd like to learn?" Adam asked me. He had his laptop on the table, as well as lots of pieces of paper, and a few different coloured pencils.

Once again, it took me a few seconds to think about my answer. "I'm quite curious about braces" I told Adam.

"Okay" he replied. "What would you like to learn about braces?"

"I've always been curious about how braces are taken off" I said to him.

"Okay then" he replied back. "Well, allow me to explain it to you." Adam stood up and quickly exited the room. He returned momentarily with a mirror about the size of my face, and a little dental mirror that were usually used for checkups.

"What are they for?" I quickly asked, somewhat worried about what Adam's intentions were.

"Well, you've got braces Billy. So, your teeth are the perfect example to help my explaining. But don't get too excited, we're not removing your braces" he teased.

Adam asked me to hold the big mirror so I could see my mouth, and he held the little mirror in his hand, upside down.

"So Billy," he started. "As you probably know, the brackets on your teeth are held on by a special type of glue, to ensure that they do not come off. The process to removing the braces is extremely easy really. Simply, the dentist just has to deform the base of the bracket, and then it pops off. This is done by using a special pair of pliers."
