Bucky Barnes x Reader [Magnets]

So, the hospital was shit and didn't fix anything. Therefore I apologies if updates are slow sorry...

Bucky's metal arm was the coolest thing in the world to (Y/N). She found it amazing how he could remove it, it felt no pain and the incredible strength that came with it. Though most people probably preferred to hold a hand made of actual skin she adored holding his metal hand. It was a sign of him being a hero, something many people refused to believe. The metal was also cold which meant in the summer she could use it as an ice pack and heat it up in the winter as a hot water bottle. (Y/N) found this hilarious, Bucky did not.

Bucky was the opposite of her when it came to the arm. He thought it made him a monster. A sign of the horrible war he took part in. He believed it separated him even more from the people around him. The hatred he had towards that arm was almost as strong as his hatred for hydra. Any mention of the arm and his smile would drop, he would become quite and distant then leave the room. Still this didn't hinder the girls love for it.

It was a rainy Sunday, one of the few days Bucky wasn't on a mission. The day passed slow and thing were done in a lazy fashion. Despite the fact that it was half three in the afternoon the couple were still in their nightwear, Bucky just a pair of old sweatpants and his hair pulled in a half up-half down style, (Y/N) and long shirt and shorts with mess hair loose. The atmosphere in their shared apartment was calm and the male had been reading in the little alcove by the window when he drifted off. Quietly (Y/N) had approached him, she slipped into the small space left in front of him and watched the rain for a bit. Looking over his sleeping form she smiled softly. It was rare to see him a peace so she savoured ever second. Then an idea popped into her head.

As fast as she could the (H/C) dashed downstairs and grabbed a handful of fridge magnets. Once again, she joined Bucky upstairs this time looming over him. Carefully she took one of the magnets and placed it near his arm. Sure enough as it got closer the magnets was pulled from her hand and stuck to the metal. The need to laugh also killed her.

I didn't think it would actually work!

The same process was repeated with another seven magnets and (Y/N) sat back to admire her work. Bucky's arm went from being decorated by a red start to being decorated with a red start, the statue of liberty, UK flag, Captain Americas shield, a small puppy, an elephant, bottle opener and a bunch of flowers.

When did we even get half of these magnets?

Trying to not to laugh was hard and eventually a small snicker escaped her lips. Bucky's eyelids fluttered and them slowly opened. As he saw the beautiful girl and smile began to creep onto his face.

"Hay sweetheart" his voice was rough as he sat up and rubbed his eyes while stretching.

The laughter she had been holding in slipped out and caused her to almost fall off the ledge. H gave her a confused look. Not being able to get the words out she just pointed between laughing fits. Bucky took the hint and glanced at his arm.

"Seriously (Y/N), what the fuck?!" he groaned and fell back onto the pillows.

After she caught her breathe she began to help him take them off. Once the arm was clear the two made eye contact again and Bucky couldn't help the grin that slid onto his face.

"You want to laugh, I know you do!" she giggled

"Maybe a little" he leaned in and kissed her.

Slowly it got more heated till the two had to pull apart for air. Bucky laid back again, this time with her laying on his chest arms wrapped around her. The silence that passed was comfortable and (Y/N) had never been more relaxed. The soft drumming of the rain and Bucky's heart heat I her ear was numbing. It wasn't long before sleep began to creep in. As she closed her eye a mumbled voice said "You're my magnet, you know?"

"I love you too"
