Chapter 20

"King Rashid's...sons...?" Sinbad stared at them blankly. He began to pull on Ahbmad while Sahbmad panicked. "Are they really your sons? They don't look like you at all."

"That hurts! Quit it!" Ahbmad yelled.

  As this was going on, Sora finally calmed down. Hesitantly, Ja'far and Hina let go. If she tried to hurt the princes, they would hold her back. Snapping out of their thoughts, Ja'far, Hina, and Sora heard Ahbmad say he was going to 'tell mother about this!' while running away with Sahbmad. Sinbad merely sweat dropped. Too bad for Sora; she didn't get a chance to punish the 'brats.'

" 'Mother' must be the queen, huh?" Ja'far asked

"I don't know." Hina said

"...Don't worry. This happens all the time. Although I'm afraid you've witnessed something quite embarrassing." Rashid said. "I don't know if it's because I left their education up to their mother, but somehow, they've turned into little hooligans..." 

"They're more than 'little hooligans'." Sora muttered still feeling the bite mark on her hand. She so wanted to beat the brats.

"It's fine as long as I reign, but it makes my head hurt just thinking about one day leaving this country in the hands of my sons. Even I have to put all my effort into maintaining this country. Nobody's perfect."

  While they were back to talking, Sora gazed out the window. In all honesty, this didn't interest her. However, when Sinbad asked what happened to his homeland, Parthevia, she tuned in.

"...but your homeland of Parthevia has...agreed to sign a cease-fire treaty with Reim." Rashid continued to talk about a single general immediately put a stop to the war that was draining national resources and has been focusing on creating new policies for Parthevia. "...he's gained the support of the people, and Parthevia, now free of the old regime's focus on military expansion.. and showing signs of restoration." 

  Tuning out, Sora started to walk out of the throne room. Noticing no one saw her, she sneaked out.

  Walking around, Sora found a place that looked poor; it was the slums. Looking at it, she saw many people in dirty clothes and had dirt on their skin. She was a little furious that no one tried helping these people. Sure they were poor, but that didn't make it right for them to be treated this way.

  Balling up her fist, she looked down to her feet. Before she could react, two boys bumped into her making all three of them fall. Before shouting, her eyes softened. They were in dirty clothes but still had bright looks on their faces. They looked to be close to her age.

  One boy had golden hair while the other had black hair that looked like tentacles. Standing up, the boys dusted off the dirt from their clothes. When they noticed Sora, they apologized.

"It's fine!" She stood up, dusting off the dirt from her clothes. When they got a good look at her, they blushed a little. Trying to act cool, the golden haired boy helped her up. When she took his hand, she got up and bumped into his chest. This made the black haired boy jealous. Backing up, she rubbed the back of her neck. "Sorry.."

"It's okay. Anyways, my name's Alibaba and this is Kassim." 

"Cool! My name's Sora!"

  As she got to know them, they suddenly had a shocked look on their face. When she asked what was wrong, Alibaba told her they were racing each other. With that, they ran off. Shrugging, she walked towards the port.

  While walking, she smelled a familiar scent. Following it, she found Sinbad, Ja'far, and Sinbad. Running up to them, she jumped onto Hina's back. Stumbling, he held her legs so she wouldn't fall off.

"Where have you been, Sora? We've been looking everywhere for you?" As Sinbad panicked over her, Hina spoke up. 

"She's fine, Sin. Anyways, what should we do now...?"

"We need to search for land to build a country, but I also want to know what's been going on in Parthevia..." Ja'far said. By now, Sora was off of Hina's back.

  Off in the distance, Alibaba caught the flag, that was on top of a building, while Kassim following behind.

"I got it! I'm king of the mountain!" Alibaba yelled

  Watching them, Hina spoke up. "Kids...they sure are energetic, huh?"

"Yeah...but..." Ja'far said

  They looked towards the slums. It saddened Ja'far.

"Slums, right...?" Hina asked

"I guess places like this really do exist, despite the fact that Balbadd is flourishing with trade. Just as King Rashid said, building a country and maintaining it won't be a simple task." With Sora, she waved at them without anyone noticing.

"I've made up my mind! What's most important is that Parthevia has become a peaceful country. We were not aware of the situation except for what we heard from Drakon about General Barbarossa's coup d'état, but it seems like he may not be merely a villain without a plan." Sora tuned out of Sin's big speech.

  When she heard he was going to the Dark Continent as their next destination, she was creeped out when he started blushing and having steam come out of his ears. As they were talking, she waved towards Alibaba and Kassim. Alibaba waved, making Kassim wonder what was going on.

"What's up? Is something going on?" When he noticed Sora, he waved back at her.

"It's nothing. I just think they were pretty strange. E-except Sora, of coarse." Alibaba blushed when he thought of her.

"...Hmph." Kassim looked at them. "Oh, well. Let's go, Alibaba." Holding out his hand, he waited for Alibaba to take it.

"Yeah, Kassim!" Taking his hand, they ran off. Before they got too far, both boys looked back at Sora. Blushing, they looked away. Alibaba, age 5. It will be another 13 years before he meets Sinbad...

A/N: Hey people!! So I'm thinking of making another book.. It's just going to be about how hard it is being a girl. I want boys to read it because they don't know. I wanted to make it because I overheard boys in my class laughing about 'the monthly.' You know what that means girls. I kind of am between the thought of making and not making it.
