Kendrick sluggishly dragged himself out of his dorm room. Last night's occasion took a toll on his mental state. He has on his sigma hoodie, and some sweatpants, topped off with a jean jacket.
Everything, even the noises that normally wouldn't bother him, bothered him. The cold breeze slowly gave him a little ounce of life, but he still felt dead—sleepy.
As he approached the dean's office, he sighed. He opened the door and entered. "Good morning." He greets Dean Walker.
"Good morning, Kendrick please have a seat...While we wait for Yara." She says.
Kendrick sits down, and slumps in the chair. He slightly closed his eyes...
"I'm so sorry I'm late!" Yara came barging in. She's completely out of breath, as she unzipped her windbreaker. "I left practice as soon as I got your email, Dean." She breathed heavily.
"Oh no, you shouldn't have..."
"No, no.. It's okay we were wrapping up anyway. How's your morning going?" She asks, with her charming smile.
"Very well, actually. And you?" Dean Walkers returns the gesture.
"Tiresome, the life of an athlete.... Well tracklete!" They share a laugh. Dean Walkers relates to Yara's statement because she too ran track in college. And found the word tracklete cute, and amusing.
As their laughter died down, Yara switches her eyes over to Kendrick. "Kendrick."
"Yara." He mutters, as she takes her seat next to him. He cringed at her kiss-up ways. The way she barged in and talked her talk... He completely hated it.
"So it was brought to my attention that the student government wanted to have a pep rally?"
Kendrick sits up straight. "Yes, it was my—"
"Our! Idea... We both came up with it." Yara says, shooting a smile to Kendrick.
Kendrick side eyes her, wanting to wipe that fake smile off her face... With the bottom of his shoe, then looks to the Dean again.
She sighs. "Well, you can't have one... We just had one last month—November."
Yara nods. "Aw, you're right..."
"Aw man." Kendrick grumbles.
"It was a good idea, but it just couldn't work right now, at least. Besides winter break is coming up, we have plenty of time for fundraisers." She says.
She notices the slight detour in their demeanor, as if they're upset. "Aw, don't be disappointed... I'm sure you two will come up with something, you guys work well together."
