Excuse the errors.
Hair flip, left and right. Gina stared at herself in the mirror as she threw her hair up into a ponytail. She sat on her butt, and breathed heavy.
"One more set left."
Gina looked at Yara, who was laying flat on her back with her eyes closed, as she got in her sit up position.
Outdoor track season came faster than expected. Being that the season is up and running so are the workouts. Everybody in the weight room was either half asleep or in a daze. Early morning workouts are not easy, that's for sure.
Although Gina's mind is elsewhere, she's super excited for the season and has so many goals for it. She felt ready, a little doubtful, but ready. She tried to focus on her sit ups as she went up and down. Counting all the way to ten with only forty left to go, her mind couldn't help but wander.
She's taking a test tomorrow, and it's not a major test per say, but it's a major test for her. With her grades in that particular class being down in the dumps, that test should bump her up to a decent grade, along with the other assignments she's been working hard on.
She has been out of sight for the past days. Either in the library, or catching up on sleep. She couldn't afford to goof around or have fun—from her perspective failing is learning, but not in this way. She cannot fail. She felt like everything was on the line, at the moment.
Her heart raced, and her mind went chaotic. She tried to blame her body feeling the way it was on her workout. That just has to be the explanation as to why her heart is racing... Right?
Needless to say, she's definitely not taking Rodney's advice on thinking positive, because frankly at this moment nothing positive is happening in her life, so she feels....
Rodney quickly gathered his books, and stuffed them in his book bag. He dragged it off the table, before throwing it on his back.
It's been a pretty easy week for him. The only thing he's thinking about is his internships, he still hasn't gotten any word about it. He's hoping he has something to do this summer—something productive.
He called his grandmother this morning, and they talked about it. She told him she'll be praying, and he thanked her.
So now, he refuses to stress. Good things come to those who wait... And wait, and wait. Because he damn sure has been waiting.
God, I can't wait to graduate... I think?
His uncertainty is in regards to the fact that he's actually going to have to be in the real world, not to say he currently isn't in the real world, because college... Well, college is real world business. But nonetheless, why stress over something that's not happening right now.
Rodney glances at his phone before looking up for a quick moment, seeing Kendrick and Yara walking side by side—powerwalking, as if they were racing. Yara had her iPad in her hand and Kendrick had his notepad. He kept tapping the notebook over and over.
Looks like they are arguing.
He stopped walking and chuckled at the two, as they walked towards him.
