This book ain't even a book anymore, it's a tv show being written bye tf.
Before we get into the story....
•Small background: Kendrick and his family are Afro-Dominican, his dad is half Trinidadian( his grandfather "pops" is Trinidadian) so it's going to be a lot of different languages but I'll be translating in the comments
y'all wanted visuals, so here are Kenny's sisters:
Kathleen, 25. The oldest sibling
Karmen, 22.
(She's actually Dominican, cool right)
Making this as authentic as I can, just saying. On to the story>>>>>
____________His headphones in, blasting Pink Toes by Childish Gambino, he shuffled his feet down the hallway. He held a plastic bowl in his hand, filled with green grapes, every now and then he'd plop one in his mouth.
The epitome of I'm chillin' and I don't care —his exact mood.
He walks straight past his room, and heads for his sister's. He noticed her door wasn't closed fully so he slightly kicked it open.
Karmen's face immediately scrunched up, as Kendrick walks inside uninvited.
"Why are you in my room?" She asked, as she continued to tap away on her phone screen.
Karmen and Kendrick's relationship is just like any brother and sister relationship. They always argued, always fought, and always annoyed each other—whether it being on accident and on purpose. But at the end of the day they were the closet, and considered each other as best friends, and someone to always confide in even though they would never openly admit it to each other.
