Part 2: Remember the time
Heavy breathing. Her heart thudded deeper and deeper. She inhaled and just as she exhaled the gun went off.
"Yeah Gina!"
Her spikes attacked the track, all she saw was the finish line. And she kept steady.
From her angle she was her only competition.
Her teammates shouted and cheered her on.
She kept her composure. Her arms swinging back and forth.
Just as her feet hit the finish line she quickly glanced her eyes at her time.
She cheesed wide as Yara and Mikey ran towards her....
This is season is definitely off to a good start...
WASHINGTON D.C.
[Kendrick's Room]"Shit was so freaking wild." She whispered. "I stayed sober though."
Denise shuffled her phone in between her hands, as she glanced at Rodney who is knocked out in the wheelie chair.
She turned over on the floor, using the little bit of strength she had to stand up straight.
"You really missed out." She snickered.
She's currently on FaceTime with Gina who is in her dorm, laying down in her bed.
"Was it that fun?" Gina quizzed.
"First off all, Kendrick got fucking wasted. Like Rodney and I had to drag him." She began, as she sat down at the end of Kendrick's bed.
She shifted her phone to show Gina, how Kendrick is snuggled up and cozy.
"And I played..." She giggles, as she appears on camera again. "Body shots."
"Denise!" Gina laughed.
"Guess with who..."
"Who?"
"Ricky—"
Her eyes grew wide. "Yo! Y'all was really wildin'!" She says. "When y'all coming back to campus? I miss y'all."
The party unknowingly shifted the energy.
When she entered all she thought about was how afterwards she was going to be back in Troy's place. As the night continued she found herself enjoying Ricky's company. He was actually nice, she thought to herself, when he's by himself and not around his friends.
Even though that's the case for most guys, she thought for some reason Ricky could be way different than what he leads everybody else to believe.
But still... Troy.
Denise glanced at Kendrick. The three were way too out of it to make their way back to Baltimore, so they had to crash at his house.
Luckily, Karmen was up and wide awake to answer Denise's call last night.
"Probably when Kendrick wakes up." Denise answers.
"Alright, so..." Gina trails off.
Two knocks on the door, grab Denise's attention. She darts her eyes past her phone.
