Brooklyn, New York City, New York
Denise and Kendrick both shared a look as Rodney checked his reflection for the millionth time. Denise unbuckles her seatbelt realizing they are going to be here for awhile.
"Bro, we gotta go pick up Gina." Kendrick snapped.
"Nigga pipe down." Rodney says, he glides his thumb across his eyebrow one more time before putting on his seatbelt. "Denise put your seatbelt on."
Rodney had specifically told them what train to get on and which train station he would picked them up at. Being that his friends never listen to what he says—Gina is the one at fault this time 'round—he couldn't care less about their opinions.
They're in his city now, he knows where to go and what to do. So in his own words—
"Y'all need to shut the fuck up, and stop tryna' tell me what to do." He snarls.
Denise glances at him before, following his order—putting on her seatbelt.
Kendrick slouched in the backseat...
"Nobody told Gina to get on the wrong train—"
Denise huffed. "Either way she's here—"
"Where? Not here." Rodney snapped, in an instant.
"Here as in New York!" Kendrick hollered. "I need to take a nap, and we've deadass been here for fifteen minutes 'cause you still wanna fix your damn eyebrow every other second."
"First of all, you need to watch your tone." Rodney waves his finger in the air, as he shifted the car to drive...
Silence lingered awhile, as Denise tried to fall asleep. She leaned her head against the window. Kendrick checked his grades on his phone, before reviewing some emails... Then checking the messages Yara sent to the SGA groupchat.
Rodney glanced at the both of them, parting his lips to speak. "By the way there's two parties." He explains, as he drives down the street. "One of them is a hotel party but like a throwback type of party, basically they're only going to be playing old jams and the other is just a regular party—but I heard it's going to be crazy."
"Let's go to both." Denise says, looking out the window before glancing over at Rodney.
"We could do that... What about you bro?" Rodney asks as he keeps his eyes on the road.
"I mean I'm cool with the throwback party, but we can fade both." Kendrick says. "I'm not going to lie though, if my socials battery dies I'm not gonna hide it and that's on that."
Denise kisses her teeth, and Rodney echos....
"Are we there yet?" Denise asks. "I miss Gina! Are we even close..."
Rodney ignores her.
"Are we there yet—"
"Nigga does it look like—"
"Hey! You need to fix your tude!" Denise retorts. "Oh and I am no longer using the "n" word, that's my New Years resolution."
