I'd never seen a man who looked so out of place. A doctor he may be, but he surely did not look like one. A white aura surrounded him, similar to a psychologist I met once. Just a soft crème white, but definitely not fitting in with his appearance. His hair curled out in all directions bright green and gold, one of his eyes was just a rainbow colored glass ball, and his hands looked like a skeleton's. The rainbow colored glass eye, shimmered with each movement he made. Resembling a diamond in the light. More distracting, he had a huge cut going from his upper cheek bone, past his lips and to the side of his chin. The first words that came out of his mouth were even less promising.

"You need not stare at me like a bafoon, I've only had six drinks this morning, but even I can see what you're thinking. No I'm not a werewolf, yes I really am a doctor. "

That's not exactly what I was thinking.

"Yes it was patient." What is he responding to?

"Your thoughts." I squeeked. That's very uncomfortable...

He laughed, "Fine I'll stop, if you stop staring at my face." I can do that. I nodded my head in agreement, he nodded back.

"Dr. Chibin is my name. Yours? Actually I don't care so keep it to yourself." I nodded again and scooted slightly away from him. We were both sitting on some chairs in the room. I hadn't even time to change into non-night clothes nor eat the food that continued to waft its wonderful scent in my direction. I was considering making a dash for the food before any further engagement with the Doctor when I felt his hand snake over my wrist and up.

Dr. Chibin then yanked my arm forward and stabbed me with a very skinny and small needle. Blood started filling into a large vial. It stung, probably because I was dehydrated. After a moment, he pulled off the vial and replaced it with another one. He started to shake his head left to right as more blood filled into the new vial. His hair bouncing with each movement.

"Opposites really do attract... You are one of the weakest omegas I've ever seen! I don't even have to maim you to get blood. Oooh and you bleed so much!" He whistled loud right in my ear. If he didn't still have that needle in my arm I would have lurched back. He continued to ramble.

"I bet it hurt when the boiling water touched your face too didn't it? Not just blistered like a vampire in Earth's sun, but felt like it too huh?! You are absolutely terrible! I kind of dig it though. It is fitting..." A low snicker emitted. I shivered in slight discomfort. He stopped. His one eye stared at me, his mouth dropped as he pulled out the needle. Blood continued to pour out but he ignored it. I was about to protest when he got up and went to the bed for a moment. I tried to use some of my clothes to wipe up the blood before it could land on the chair or floor. As I did so a blanket landed on me. I looked up at Dr. Chibin who was there with his arms crossed.

He spoke nonchalant, "It's cold in here, aren't you cold? Odd considering how much closer our Sun is here. Whatever. Just keep the blanket on 'til I leave." His hand went for my wrist again and pulled it forward. He put one of the purple gems on the hole from the needle. It healed instantly and the blood seeped into the gem. The gem turned a pitch black color and began to glow. The color bouncing off his glass eyeball like a solar eclipse. Dr. Chibin became uncomfortably still. Now staring at the glowing gem.

He seemed to know a bit about werewolves and even other creatures, and was familiar with this gem. He also looks to care a little. The blankets warmth was pretty nice. I wonder if he might answer my questions? Possibly callous or not, but still I have to try.

"Mister Dr. Chibin?" He shivered out of his momentary trance and gazed at me.

"Yes patient?"

"How am I a werewolf if I've never changed?"

"Your blood glows against the Porusae stone, so you must be one. Though it rarely glows black... Normally it glows red." That's what the purple gem is called. Interesting. I wonder what it means? I heard a loud sigh come from him. I glanced over at his free hand which was tapping away at his leg. It be best I don't waste a question on that, I don't know how much patience he has. Mr. Chibin moved the Porusae stone away from me, and back onto the table. After a moment it dimmed down and back to its original purple clearer pigment.

It was then he pulled out a much bigger needle. I was about three inches long and a quarter inch thick. I scooted back. He wasn't going to stab me with that, was he? He brought it toward my arm. Indeed he was. I flashed my other hand in front. Blocking him for just a moment. I think I'll try to get another question out before I go through this and forget what I was thinking before. That needle was definitely going to hurt.

I whispered, "Weird second question, since you answered my first so nicely. Would smiling make someone, werewolves, angry here?" He put the needle back down. His head cocked sideways, hair bouncing more ravenously than before. I watched as he took in a long deep breath, cursed, then began to speak. More of a tangent really.

"Thoughtful girl aren't you? Definitely opposites, as expected." he rolled his  eye as he paused for a moment before speaking again, "I can't believe you're asking me this when my other patients come to me for kill advice! Even those thick-skinned humans of Devaleon know better! You want to anger him? A man who slayed all but one of his nine brothers with his bare hands-"

"He has a brother?"

"Well he had nine, but yes, an omega like you in fact. Runs a bakery in town--oh but you had a dumb question didn't you?"

"I did but its okay."

"No no! Might as well answer since I have the time. No, smiling is how they flirt here, or give permission for mar-." Suddenly he stopped, looking at me for a moment with a widened eye and mouth slightly agape.

He finished, "Oh fuck it. Have you thought maybe it's not the smiling and you're just doing something else rude? Devaleon werewolves have real murderous culture, so their patience is really low." A tinge of pain shot in my chest.  Dr. Chibin grabbed the needle again. I put my hand up again. I needed to know.

"What do you think would make werewolves angry then?" The tapping on his leg turned to tapping on his scar. He gave me a slight glare. Yet, he still answered.

"I don't know, maybe it's the Kyn- Damnit! I'm not a people person! I'm a physician who is trying to get a bone sample right now, and no longer do I care for your irritation. Go to Baba for that kind of advice! That old biddy knows everything." Dr. Chibin slapped my hand away and grabbed my wrist firm. I sucked in some air in anticipation.

Shink!

"Oops. Turns out I didn't need a bone sample after all."
